I'm 46 now and haven't been to a techno night for a long time, but good to see the younger generation still appreciating the music we were partying to back then!
I remember listening to this track back in 1999 when the UK techno scene was fairly small. Around 20 years later I was in Amsterdam, there were crowds of people heading to Awakenings and I was surprised to find out it was a techno festival. Good to see techno is still going strong, I enjoy the sets uploaded to RUclips 🙂
The song that Amelie is playing is CJ Bolland's The Prophet from 1996. It's a real Belgian techno classic and at that time the techno scene was really big in Belgium. I love the way Amelie is always honoring the Belgian musical legacy by playing those classics. Proud to be Belgian. 💯❤
the rave never stops✌️ I remember the 90's well too That was the time of my first Love Parade 95 What crazy times those were🙆🏼♂️🙈😆 But I can say I enjoyed the time 😊
The uk techno scene was massive at that time, orbit, pure, slam, final frontier, voodoo, sankeys soap,to name just a few were clubs that people would travel from all over the uk to attend 🏴
Breathtaking. I wonder why I wasn't at this set and see the crowd and realize I'm not at that age anymore, I can't go out often enough to be lucky to catch this once or a few times in a lifetime rare gathering like this. The DJ, the venue, the lights, of course the sound system, and especially the crowd all combined to make a special set where everyone stayed and didn't want to let go until the end when it was time. I'm happy this happened and is online where I can join in my way too
Where I live the rave scene is really huge. We get spoiled with raves like this every weekend but seeing this video made me realize that you should never take moments like these for granted. The vibe is just top notch, only love!!
Good to see that rave is still alive. I experienced this in 1996. 3 years of raves without taking a single drug, just pure pleasure and joy. Greetings from Slovenia. RAVE ON! 👽☢️ Amelie is best rave ambasador
@@samzied I think thats a bit harsh, but I respect that it’s your opinion. As someone who came from that generation, all I can say from personal experience is that the people who I popped pills and went “madoutofit!” with have become really good, emotionally balanced parents, workers, friends who are light years away from the generation that bore us in terms of bring connected with themselves and others like no generation the world has seen. I attribute this (not entirely, but very significantly) to those days when a night on pills in a club and back to someones after meant having something special carved into your very soul…it shaped you as it was happening because the honesty you showed and the connections you felt throughout the whole experience mellowed you as a human being. It allowed you to drop defences and just be who you were, and you were interacting with others on exactly the same vibe. Feeling that free, honest and happy gets into your DNA (run with me here, I’m being metaphorical…and I’m not at the same time) and it fundamentally changes you…’cause you’ve caught a glimpse of “how it could be…all the time” and that’s a very moving and indelible experience. Its this very experience that’s gone on to shape most of the people I know today for whom I have a huge respect for. Fundamentally, they’re just interested in being emotionally mature, decent human beings and I think our rave days were where we learned to do this.
@@thedudeabides3138 That's nicely put, and I cannot deny that for some people, experiencing drugs can be a catalyst to brushing off some dead skin and becoming their beautiful self, but I'd argue that those chosen souls would have found the light one way or another, popping pills not being the less pleasant or effective though. Still not convinced that the world would change if "everyone experienced that once". Lots of people thought that of LSD also back then, and it's common knowledge that most of the "elite" of today partook, yet the world is as dark as ever.
