Oh My God, I can't believe you actually decided to play TNO! Japan tho is not the best country, mainly because of the Dai Li Investigation, which can make your head spin. Turns out however that investigating the Juntong core and the army relations allows for a successful end of the investigation. And an advice from me: never play TNO with Ironman, because the sheer amount of decisions means that one wrong click can destroy your whole campaign.
Yeah, I noticed that in this campaign. I mean, reading the events about the Dai Li investigation was fun. Someone in the Discord requested TNO Japan, so I thought I'll give it a go. I will definitely do more TNO in the future.
@@theenforcerguy Glad to hear it! TNO is a mod that requires a lot of learning and paying attention to things. When I first played TNO in July of 2022, I was equally confused and frustrated about the economic system and it took me months to understand it.
@@pomernguy1835 What kinda hurt with the reading was that I really hated reading anything after I had to read "Franz Kafka Die Verwandlung" for German classes, so my brain was fcked. This mfer needs over half a page to describe a single movement.

It needs a facelift but the minor updates that have been done definitely bring it closer to the modern tno standards
I don’t know if I’m just bad but every time I play my government collapses and I have no idea how to stop it gives you no warning and too little time to fix everything

I tried to enjoy TNO, but I hate the GUI and feel that it relies too much on flavor and internal mechanics for gameplay, rather than expansion and other forms of conquest that you expect from a war game.
Granted, it's a Cold War mod, but this just proves that HOI4 is simply not built to be a pure polsim. Suzerain is much better for that.

My experience with TNO is two or three hours as Magadan, a Russian warlord state on the Pacific coast governed by (comparatively) moderate Whites.
It was neat, but I cannot see a HOI mod ever making an entertaining Cold War setting. The mechanics do not allow for it.

honestly, i would play tno if a, my pc could handle it, b if the mechanies were not complex and easy to understand, and c, theres plenty of action and wars, and also no thermonuclear shit if some country is starting to lose their home territory.

I would say the most up to date path in japan is Kaya's. So it's unfortunate that you picked one of the older ones that lacked the polish the more recent paths have.

japan is pretty old game design, you should try out the smaller campaigns of the UK/Ukraine or the 10 year campaign of guangdong. The writing for guangdong is pretty good

TNO is probably one of the worst mods to make a video about, its not very engaging content and is just a lot of reading and waiting for time to pass, hence why basically nobody does.
This mod is lore-heavy. There's barely any gameplay. Pls don't play this mod again.
