Sims 2 was great for giving both options when decorating. You could go for something really nice or something really tacky if you wanted. Sims 4 doesn’t really do tacky. It just has some loud color options on otherwise normal furniture.
Exactly why we need swatches like the sims 3
Nariah Brown sims 3 had a color wheel. I would love one of those in sims 4. Even if it had to be limited. I loved changing colors and matching new outfits in sims 3.

Edit: Hey guys i just wanna say i like building things too, sims 2 just had so much more depth and focus in the simming department back in the day. The tools werent all there
There are incredible builds in the Sims 2, and ways to place objects diagonally and off grid. She's just new to building, it's ok her house isn't good. But there are thousands of great houses and community lots out there!
Try Modthesims for great creations both sim and lots

@@joleeaek Lets say you move a chair off the grid to get it in the middle. This makes the script that the sims follow kind of glitch out, and then the sim cannot sit down on the chair.
Its rendered unusable because the routing cannot find it.
The chairs actually move inwards towards the table, once you're in live mode :)
I missss so many of those items that Sims has lost. Placing new lots, the colors of the floors and walls! The greenhouse was a bonus too!

Veronaville was my favorite part of sims 2. I lived for that Romeo and juliet storylines.
I liked building a big fancy house, it was always the same house.. I made the posh couple that moved in dislike their kid and make them live in the attic. He was only allowed out to go to school, eat, use bathroom and clean, cause obviously he was the maid.. Only done that in the sims 2 for some reason..

My favorite thing about all of the Sims games were building different houses.
I have all of the expansion for the Sims 2. With the 'Apartment Life" expansion, I've built a 4 family row houses. Each house had a basement, 3 or 4 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. I made each house like apartments so I can have multiple families on 1 lot. But you can only play one family at a time. But, since they were neighbors, they can visit each other.
You seriously don't give yourself enough credit. I was so bad at building I sims 2 and 3 that my houses were literally one story oblong boxes. You did great :)

I am kind of laughing thinking about what Vixella would think if she saw my builds in The Sims 2. I rarely used premade houses for new families and instead would build a new house with every single family (except the ones I dropped into apartments . . . and I even built some of the apartments in my game). Often I would get the biggest lot size and just build from there as I had money to do so. It was crazy when they started adding on money for every sim past the first. So. Much. Money! Once Free Time (I think, could have been seasons) came out and we got the ability to fish, I pretty much always started putting ponds on them so that my sims could fish. And Bon Voyage gave me the ability to make money because I would have sims digging until they hit water to earn money.
When Seasons first came out it was the funniest thing, because it never occurred to us to actually put roofs on our builds, so we had rain and snow in our houses and we had to do some quick fixes for that. Lots of good memories in that game and I plan to make more once I figure out how to install it on Windows 10 and get my computer to boot. Also, The Sims 4, which I just got and am really looking forward to playing.
You should start another series! A suggestion could be a university series! You could incorporate tiny living objects with the university and I think it would be pretty cool. Then they can get a job and a love life and I think it would be fun!

I used to LOVE sims 2, I played it all the time. Out of all the sims I've played (the sims, the sims 2, the sims 3 and of course the sims 4) I think I have the most fun memories with the sims 2.
Until my younger cousin broke it a couple of years ago.
I remember my first homes looked similar and instead of actually trying to make it normal id make the overly big and be filled with the most expensive things and have a skating rink in the back yard along with a pool.
It never occurred to me that someone would be terrible at building structures. Back in the day when I had this game I would model my homes after real life architecture from Google searches. The building is what got me into the Sims. I love that I was able to build my own world and when I bought the Sims 3 I assumed I could make everything from scratch. Boy was I disappointed.

My mom was a BIG sims lover she had all the expansion packs on every sims game (expect for sims 4) she literally was obsessed and taught me how to build and play and get cc. lol now she really doesnt play but still has the sims. now im the obsessed one with over 100 cc in sims 4. 😂😂
Omg i've been DYING for like 10 minutes now about that "iS ThAt A ChIcKeN??" part, my sides hurt!
I have just watched it today and I missed TS 2. I created a custom towns where I built all of houses, created family for each houses, and playing each of them as generations, and built another houses for the adding new families. TS 2 has some unique interactions for Sims that I just miss. And I miss the autoroof, as building it is freaking hard.
I remember a house I made when I was younger. The bedroom was a separate building from the house and so was the kitchen. The house was large and had no wallpaper or flooring. It had a whole bunch of fishtanks and a pool table.

You can place the wall next to the stairs if you move one grid further from the landing. For some reason this game lets you place floor tiles more closer to the landing than walls or fences.

I neeeeed another sims series. Have you tried the Disney princess challenge? It’s quite story-based, I’m not sure if that’s your thing but it looks quite cool. The zodiac challenge is one of my favourites too, I’m doing it and it’s very addicting.

I can build basements no problem but when it comes to the actual the house it's like nope.

You can't put stands next to double beds like that in The Sims 2... Or rather, the build mode lets you do it, but then the sims can't actually use the bed... Because they need that square to be free to get in. Also yes, there are kitchen cabinets... Always forgetting where...

i'm disappointed they didn't add all this amazing stuff and build options to the sims 4. feels like we just got less in the sims 4. all the amazing furnitures in the sims 2 sould definitely go to sims 4.. imo sims 2 has to be the ultimate best sims game in history when it comes to build modus.

When I was young (I'm still young 11 years old) I even played this game.
So I was casually snooping around my grandparents house and just so you know they some old timey people and have very weird things in their house so, ya. I was snooping around when I came across the sims 2. I always wanted to have the sims 4 but they said no so I started playing the sims 2 watching this makes me want to play it again but we have no computer to play it on.
I bulided many hauses in the sims 2 and your hause was pretty cool

I first find The Sims 4 a pain in the ass to build, because my first game from the sims was the first because of the low specs of my PC, so it was a little less hard to build for me. Still, its the first 3d Tool, lets not ask that much for it.
You should recreate this in Sims 4!
