After Forever was Floor Jansen’s first band and this song/video is close to 20 years old now. She released several older songs recently which is great news for Floor fans both old and new 😊

Yes Floor started with this group aged 16 Floor has a good friend with the keyboard player Joost who also plays the piano for her reindition of Hearts Alone. Joost Followed Floor to her second band Revamp and later he joined Arjen Lucassen and his Ayreon project with Floors sister Irene Jansen who is one of there backing vocalist. Floor and Irene sung a song called Who I Am. One of the original members of After Forever Mark Jansen ( No relation to Floor ) left and formed another band then later changed it's name to Epica and Simone Simons became there lead vocalist who is also good friends with Floor. Small circles 'eh.

After Forever was Floor's first band, which she joined as a teenager in the mid-1990s. They toured Europe opening for Nightwish in the early 2000s and disbanded in 2009. This song is from their last album, released in 2007. On of the other AfterForever videos she dropped the other day is called Emphasis...that is from their first album, so you can see her even earlier than this.
Floor is amazing and I need to check out more by After Forever! Appreciate the info from true fans like yourself. 🤠

Hi, I found you through Lovebites and saw this in your uploads. I recommend After Forever "Dreamflight" live at progpower. It is just epic and has some of Floor's best vocals. I love vocals from every era of Nightwish but Floor was a perfect fit.

Hi Buckeye, glad you like this song from 2007. Floor joined After Forever as teenager. After the band dissolved she sang in the band ReVamp and then in 2012 Nightwish phoned her. She also did the project Northward with Norvegian guitarist Jørn Viggo Lofstad. During covid, she did some solo video's on her channel and that led to a concert in 2021 in Amsterdam, followed by a solo album. During her career she has performed several times in the Ayreon project of Arjen Anthony Lucassen, both on studio albums as at the rare live performances. The keyboard player here is Joost van den Broek, who is also on stage at the Ayreon live performances and who is now producer of the Epica albums.
I had another channel and lost it, But only discovered NIGHTWISH about a year ago and I am so amazed by there music and Floor. There is so much to dive into and I cannot wait to react to more. Thank you for being such an awesome fan of the music! Always appreciate fans like you.
She didn't just sing in ReVamp - she created it - she did everything from recruiting the band member - wrote the songs .- arranged the bookings, transport etc. All this and acting as a singing tutor took its toll and lead to her burnout. She was slowly recovering when Nightwish called her to joint them on their world tour - and the rest is history. After Forever, which she joined at 16 was one of the pioneers of Symphonic Metal and have a great back catalogue - thanks to Floor some of their classics are being cleaned up and released to a new audience

After Forever was and is still better than Nightwish. And i am a big Nightwish fan. But the After Forever days where pure magic Floor was magic from the start..I have seen After Forever many times live in the Netherlands. Grown up with After Forever..there in my heart. The voice that she had in After Forever..that full potential of her voice is still not used in Nightwish by Tuomas. Just listen to every After Forever album and you will know what i mean.
