Cody, you should look into the Comrades ultra-marathon in South Africa! It is one of the most beautiful, scenic marathons and the running culture is insane. I think you would really enjoy it (and it's at sea-level). edit: The comrades is also the largest and oldest marathon in the world !!
I went to Luna park in Australia when I visited Sydney! It was such a fun little dinky place! There was barely anyone there and we had a great time sneaking a bottle in and just riding all the carnival rides. You missed out on such a great time! :(
