Which is better in terms of performance Type 1,2, or 3?
See there were only type 1 bosch engine and type 2 delphi engine so type is more refined u can say with betty improved mileage and lesser cabin noise and has that punch in it 🔥 and there 3 types for face lifts actually

Yeah
The difference between the engines was that type 1 was SOHC ( Single OverHead Camshaft) and type 2 was DOHC. (Dual...).
The main diff was type 2 was having way less turbo lag and it was more refined n more mileage etc.. Overall it was improved in almost every aspect. Type 1 was having 5 speed gearbox in manual, type 2 had 6 speed gearbox.
As u asked regarding performance.... Type 1 felt faster coz of turbo lag,, wen turbo spooled it would push u back in the seat hardly.. But new type 2 was lil tamed,feels slower compared but its actually faster than type 1 & is linear in acceleration since it doesn't have turbo lag....

Great choice. Awesome car, awesome power. Better than those tincan sedans from Honda & Hyundai. I don't give a 2 cents about features and LED lights. For me, driving pleasure, comfort & safety are the main criteria. Companies like Chevy and Ford exited India coz modern nibba nibbis have started demanding luxury features instead of driving pleasure & safety.
And one of the best things you can do after buying a pre-owned car is to change the engine mounts (and gearbox mounts if rear-wheel drive). It will remove any vibrations (if any) and make the car feel new again.
