Maverick most likely has ARFID, which is a type of eating disorder where the person is extremely picky with food because of the taste or texture where they will gag or not even try things and it effects their life or they have a fear of food/eating not due to calories but due to being afraid it will make them sick etc. ARFID can be very serious because it often effects the person physical health if they aren’t eating enough or not eating a variety of different things that your body needs. There is treatment for ARFID though

to everyone saying “eating disorders are serious” and “he doesn’t have an eating disorder he’s doing this for attention he’s just a picky eater” please educate yourself before commenting on this. there is an eating disorder called ARFID. it’s exactly like how he describes. the definition of it is “A condition characterised by the person avoiding certain foods or types of food, having restricted intake in terms of overall amount eaten, or both. people with Arfid do not avoid or restrict food due to fear of gaining weight or concern over their body, weight, and shape.” so yes he more than likely does have an eating disorder and i’m genuinely disgusted by some of the people commenting on this. please educate yourselves.

I really appreciate this video because i share the same disorder. Maverick you could have ARFID. Its a very undiagnosed eating disorder and pretty new too. And just a note to Cash it actually does truly affect my day to day life and my health.

@ikykwklk2005 Its something you should joke, which is what he was doing, on the internet. Though i appreciate kate for helping to explain, its a off the mic conversation. Cash should have just let Mav talk about his experience. Him bringing out the food and saying this isnt an eating disorder is repressing and hurting people who have one. Thats why with an online fan base of mostly kids which is the highest rate for having an eating disorder, should be presented more seriously.

Mav does have an eating disoder it seems like, but it is weird how Cash just does not want to accept it, he is always invalidating other people's problems, even on the other episode where Harper was talking about her OCD, he would have been a reck if Kate didnt shut him up. @@giovannimorales6063it’s not just him being picky tho? im picky to the point where there have been times I’ve cried because I accidentally ate an onion in my food, however that doesn’t mean i have an eating disorder. in mavs case eating foods with textures he’s uncomfortable makes him throw up and feel sick. its a legit eating disorder and it is one because it affects his day to day life
as someone who is extremely picky and will only eat like 3 foods not including snacks (even including snacks the amount of snacks i’ll eat is really low) i believe mav does have an eating disorder and i completely see where him and kate are coming from. when it comes to life or death if you had to eat something you don’t like, for me i would end up being sick before it hits my mouth and i would rather actually die, so i understand where mav is coming from. in my opinion, cash is being quite rude when it comes to this and instead of arguing trying to create an argument over this and disagree he should be trying to help him. eating disorders don’t mean not eating anything , it means a mental problem with some/most food not all.

yeah, there are so many different forms of eating disorders and most dont even mean not eating, there are otheres like where you eat to much or even eat things that aren't edible. in saying that, i think mav might suffer from ARFID which is an eating disorder where you dont eat because of textures or smells

As someone who has had multiple eating disorders, I can confirm it is definitely a disturbance in my life, I used to have an eating disorder to where I only ate things that weren’t food or had no nutritional value mostly lettuce and I would starve myself, at the time, it was mostly bc I had major body image issues which made sense me being a gymnast and dancer, fast forward a few years and bc I starved myself so much, my stomach shrank and caused me to eat a lot to bring it back to its normal size and in doing so, it caused me to gain weight, I hated myself for the longest time bc of it and still struggle to this day, bc of that, I was very self-conscious and started a keto diet for like 3 months, lost most of the weight, and started working out individually and kept playing multiple different sports as I have always done, but I have never been able to look at myself in the mirror and feel content, some days I still starve myself and every time I eat, literally just eat when needed, I feel a pain of guilt and I take advantage of every single time I am sick bc I tend to starve myself and have so many thoughts of starving myself and I did for about a week recently and I get like Maverick in the sense that I throw up everything bc for me, I am afraid of gaining weight and I weigh myself daily, if I do starve myself, I make sure to drink liquids but I know it’s not healthy, the only reason I don’t starve myself as often as I did is bc I am a powerlifter, and I know that I could probably die if I starved myself while lifting weights, but even then, one of the main reasons I decided to become a powerlifter was bc I want to look good and tone my body up, long story short, I love it either way, but it’s still awful. I guess the point that I am trying to get across is that there are many types of eating disorders and not all are just to where you don’t eat food, bc I am a living example of someone who still technically eats like the average person but still has an eating disorder, and if you have an eating disorder, I just want to say I am so sorry, you aren’t alone, I know you probably won’t believe this, neither do I, but here’s the truth: you are wonderfully and fearfully made in the image of God. You aren’t a mistake, and things can get better with help, I know it’s hard. Also I will be praying for you Maverick thanks for opening up, and thank you Cash for apologizing, it’s much appreciated especially when you have almost died from an eating disorder 😅 anyway, have a blessed day everyone! 🥰

There are many types of eating disorders such as Anorexia meaning you refuse not to eat because you are scared of gaining weight, Binge eating disorder meaning you eat large amounts of foods and then stop eating for a while because you feel guilty about it and then binge eat again for the time you lost that you didn't eat. Bulimia means you eat food and feel guilty about it and you make yourself throw up to lose weight. Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder ( Which I think Maverick has) Meaning you refuse to eat foods because of texture, color, taste, temperature, and even just the smell of it. Rumination disorder meaning you eat food and immediately spit it out (any and all food). Pica meaning you eat food that have no nutritional value in it like it cant even be classified as food at all. Orthorexia meaning you are obsessed with eating ONLY healthy food. Diabulimia meaning someone with Diabetes stop taking their medication to lose weight. I HOPE THIS HELPS! NO HATE AT ALL ❤
So not the fact that everything maverick described is literally me.. (I was diagnosed with an eating disorder and did feeding therapy..)

Honestly, I think maverick does. It affects his life no matter where he is. He would eat it to survive because, if you wouldn’t, that’d VERY serious ed. Cash’s argument has holes in it, and if that’s all maverick eats then that would be an ed by my standards. I would draw the line at it affects your day to day life no matter where you are and it’s not just you don’t like the foods, but that you literally can’t unless it’s for your bare survival.
I am an e@t!ng d!sorder specialist and Maverick DEFINITELY has ARFID. This is a serious life threatening crippling neurological condition that affects the way your body functions. I find it so invalidating and ignorant and uncaring that his brother was invalidating him. He finally opened up about something he is really struggling with and he was totally rejected. These are the kinds of things you say to somebody that makes them un@l!ve themselves. Please please get help. I see you. I know how much you are struggling. This is serious.❤️❤️

Mav, Ik you won’t see this but (I’m not done with the episode but I’m js going to say) I have the same problem, it’s textures in food that kills me, for me it’s so bad I can’t eat meat without throwing up, like no chicken, steak, burger, nothing. And it’s not that it tastes bad it’s just I literally can’t with the textures. I also have ADHD wich is apart of my picky eating but it once got so bad I had lost like 13 pounds in only a few months back when I was in 3rd grade. I went to food therapy and discovered other ways to find protein in food other than meat. If anyone else has a similar experience please share.
