Thanks so much for your honest opinion. It helped me decide that this model is okay for me (just domestic housework). I can sympathise that it would be limiting as a professional cleaner though! It’s working very well so far. I find it heats up very fast and to speed up the cool-down for a refill, you just turn it off and released all the steam left through the nozzle. Once the pressure drops, you can open the lid much faster than just waiting. It did say to do this in the manual so I know it’s safe and it works for me :-)
How long can I use SC2 before it overheats? How do I know when I need to pause, the indicator turns red? How long should I wait for it to cool down before refilling it with a liter of water? What if there's still water in the reservoir, should I wait for it to cool down and pour in the liter, or should I empty it, then refill it again?
Sorry my friend, but this is not the case. Waiting for the item to cool down before refills. No... Once the water and steam has gone You can undo the cap and do refills No water, hence no steam adds No pressure so the cap releases . The steamer let's you know when it Need water/ topping up & stops producing steam One of the best little steam cleaners out there Great on grout / tiles. All big & small jobs . 👍
Not the case when you get to the end of the tank of steam the steam pressure falls to low to do the steaming job there is still residual steam in the boiler, you have to turn off and hold the trigger to expel any residual steam out of the gun while still waiting for the pressure cap to loose pressure so that you can open the machine, this isn't the case with the sc3 or sc4 or sc5 which all have constant steaming
I double checked - you're definitely wrong. It takes 10-11 minutes to cool down and 6 minutes to warm up so if you cannot do all your cleaning with one tank you'll have enough time to have a cup of coffee before your next cleaning session. ruclips.net/video/rzwwkZeYoBI/видео.html
You don't mention the time it takes to refill from the moment you run out of steam. 1 hour, 10 minutes? what is the actual time added to using this device?

17 minutes. Definitely not a deal breaker for a smaller home.
So the sc3 can be refilled while in use but still only has a 1 litre tank. At least you dont have to wait for it to cool down. How ever, at the moment the price difference is £40 from what I can find. I guess it depends if youre trying to clean a whole house at a time or one room.
Prices fluctuate quite often I have even seen a sc3 for less than sc2 or more than a sc4 in the past if your doing a smallish job like a usually clean bathroom then it’s fine but if your tackling a longer job like cleaning filthy car seats or a heavily limescale tap for example then being able to add water while you’re steaming is such a worthwhile feature
@@andyrantshumanphilosopher7571 if using on your car be careful on painted parts like indicators stalks, as you may have seen my other channel Rich Man Poor Motors, I use the steam cleaner to bring the car interior back to looking fresh it is both good on upholstery leather (Just product after) and plastic especially door handles that tend to have a texture, yes both machines will do it and if maintenance of a clean car both are fine, but it can be a long process if you starting with a filthy car, with not being able to keep constantly steaming with the sc2 I found it was taking hours longer than compared to the sc3
The steam power for cleaning reduces, before the machine is fully empty, then you have to wait for the pressure in the cap to reduce before it can be opened
Not had one myself as I have a bissell doing the same thing for my needs, but the 4002 has a additional Upholstery nozzle for cleaning things like car seats and sofas etc
Just turn it off press handle let all pressure out unscrew the cap then refill I got a sc1.020 for £20 and did exactly that but the sc1.020 claims to hold 1l of water when in reality it holds 800ml
I am in desperate help in knowing how to clean/steam an area of my couch (fabric) that has an extreme buildup of hair products. I bought a Karcher SC3 and haven't used it yet (never have used one). I also bought Meguiars D101 All Purpose cleaner. I read about breaking it down 10:1 but with the extreme buildup of sticky, greasy and gummy hair product I wondered if I can use more cleaner than 10:1 ? Any comments on how to start cleaning this would be greatly appreciated
As with everyone else all cleaning at your own risk and I would suggest trying on a area that is not visible, but this is how I use to clean heavy soiled cloth car seats. I use the hand held steam gun wrapped with a clean microfibre cloth and additional microfibre cloth, I would heat and wet with steam and wipe with a clean microfibre cloth swapping regularly, if getting too wet I use to use my wet and dry vacuum to suck the water from the seats to speed up drying, and the car seats would look like new
I have used a carpet cleaner with hot water and Dawn on fabric couches with heavy spots of grime and dirt i advice you you'll need to do a couple of passes with the upholstery attachment but believe me it'll work it has for me no need to pay someone to do it for you hope this helps
Not the SC2, you can buy a steam wand to steam clothes but if you want to iron clothes then it needs a changeable port found on the SC5 in the uk and i believe sc4 on some other markets

For me it just sto giving the steam flow I want. As long as U get steam it's not over heating. Water cools it.

@@RichManPoorTech noted. I want it for the car as a first point and hpusehold second, but the 3 does seem the better option

Can i get your opinion on the sc 2 easyfix deluxe premium model? What's the diff comparing to the original sc2
It will be on the extras which come with the machine

Thanks, this made me decide to rather not go for the SC2
