Clara Bow quit hollywood after that scandal, but ultimately, she was scared of the sound "talkies" movies. She just didn't want to do them after all that negative publicity. She left and went to Nevada. Hollywood begged her to come back for a 2 picture deal and paid a large sum for the two movies. Several hundred thousand at the time of the Great Depression. After the two movies were done, Clara went back to their Nevada ranch with Rex Bell for some time and was done with being a movie actress. She eventually did come back to Southern California to live on her own after the passing of Rex. She died in late 1965 at her modest home. She is buried with Rex Bell in The Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Glendale, Ca. She was 60 yrs. old.
