  • This was a fullbody w/ complex background commission for Tivadu on deviantart of their wonderfully, enigmatic wolf characer Eisen! It was actually super intimidating drawing a wolf. I've been watching a ton more wolf/canine artists recently and realised how poor my knowledge of canine anatomy really was ;^; The first sketch you guys see in the speedpaint was kinda my freehand attempt at drawing the characters. I soon then realised it wasn't looking quite right so I spent a night looking up references and doing sketch studies of wolves v I think the final character piece turned out at least a bit better! I certainly did learn a lot from it and it was really fun to paint x3
    I really hope you liked this video and found it helpful ^o^ Please do consider subscribing or following me and my art elsewhere~ I endeavour to continue drawing as much as I can and post my process videos regularly~

    Tools Used
    I used a free digital art program called Medibang Paint Pro to do most of the drawing, and then exported the file to Photoshop CC to make the final colour adjustments. If you're ever on the look out for a really awesome and easy to use digital art program I really highly recommend Medibang! It features a ton of awesome brushes and supports a lot of the basic features that digital artists need u I'll have a link down below to their website!

    ohh i'm sorry i never record my actual sketching process! i would if it was more uh... structured and less of a mess haha xDD honestly most of my art starts from really really rough sketches and i just refine them through the process of painting. (i'm also just super self conscious when i sketch though, is that weird?)

      YES! Don't worry - You're not alone in that phobia! The sketching process is, to me, the definition of freedom. It contains the time and space that allows you to completely let go. When people see my sketching processes - via livestream for example - I feel tense and extremely uncomfortable. Its like a secret part of me is off on show for the public to see! And with that discomfort comes the inevitable mistakes. I find that in this situation I rush my sketches - which causes a lot of complications further on down the process. Its much easier for you - and everyone else that's watching - if you present yourself in a way that makes YOU the most comfortable! There is no rush or need for anything otherwise!
      Your artwork is simply amazing, I love watching your processes.
      Keep up this amazing work!

      ahhhh your words are so relatable! it's so true what you're saying about showing the public a secret part of yourself! honestly it's almost like posting an unfiltered, unedited photograph haha xD thank you for the kind words and reassurance love

      Eleisha Martin I relate to this a lot. It takes a lot of courage to start recording when I'm just doing the lineart. Sketching without being watched or viewed gives me some comfort and makes me feel like I don't have to worry about anything. Many times during a regular speed paint I feel the need to pause the recording for a moment because I'm too tense and I keep messing up on something.

    Dude, it surprises the crap out of me when channels like this barely have any subscribers compared to what they should have.
    This is so gorgeous! Not to mention, this is proof that you don't have to have this huge expensive program to create beautiful art.
    Im speechless.

    Your art is amazing! You must put so much time and effort into it, and I can't believe you don't have more subscribers. Your anatomy is actually pretty good(Reference helps so much, doesn't it?), although there's room for improvement(Don't be worried or intimidated, there always is). It's better than mine, anyway! It's amazing, and I really love the background. Anyway, it's beautiful, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your speedpaints!

    tfw the artist has a "poor knowledge of canine anatomy" yet draws wolves 8000% better than me... and i've been fucking studying wolf anatomy for a while

    Ooh okay I see what brushes you're using now - they're so nice! :D Definitely need to play around with Medibang brushes now. I love watching all your detailing of the mountains and snow (and well, of everything in general). Also can I just say...that's a lot of undos in the top left corner XD (but don't worry, I'm exactly the same haha).

      i think there's only one version - medibang paint = medibang paint pro (not sure why there's a discrepancy in the names tbh), but it's free!

    • @javitagiamanco27
      @javitagiamanco27 7 лет назад

      Ah okay xD Thanks! I've gotten the application, so do you have any tips? I'd love to start drawing in a realism kinda style like yours.

    • @clockbirds
      @clockbirds  7 лет назад

      haha i'm not the best when it comes to realism, but i think having some textured brushes definitely help! if you click on the cloud with the arrow (on the bottom left of the brushes list box) you can load in a bunch of nice brushes that can help you with painting more realistically!
