Yeah, I don't think they caught on to that. They were saying that he transitioned into the shooter part. Even though it was a double from the beginning of the song.
@@briancallaway1690 I am pretty sure they caught that because they mentioned the whole song being about both of them, the transition you're referring to is the transition when you realize that it's about somebody else as well.
Lets be real, story written this is much better than stan. Insane how he made a extra story of a existing story. This song has 0 replay value for me but this is top tier writing. You cant get shit better than this lyrics wise , only shit that could be the same lvl.
he did this before on "25 to lfie" the only difference is ; on that song you dont know its a full double until the very last line of the song ; which is even better in my opinion ; Darkness just has the better message
The realization that this was also about the Vegas shooter came late but it finally hit you! You have to re listen to the song a few times and it blows your mind how there was NO transition as you stated but the ENTIRE song has been about both, the Vegas shooting AND being a performer and the pressure that comes with it. This is why I mentioned the crazy double and triple meanings in this one! The caps, magazines, scope, murdering the show and and and! It's one helluva song. Also the sampling of the "hello darkness my old friend", if you listen carefully, you hesr the voice in the background sayin it over and over!
When I first listened to the song at work as an overnight baker and heard "tear up the stage in a few" and "pop some caps" in the first verse my hands grabbed the table and my breath was shaky but I knew what he was hinting at. Still can't shake it off, he always speaks his mind.
This is a masterpiece. I’m Houston, yet a Stan, because of the absolute art of songs such as this. It’s two songs at the same time, who can do that? Other than Em?
he did this before on "25 to lfie" the only difference is ; on that song you dont know its a full double until the very last line of the song ; which is even better in my opinion ; Darkness just has the better message
A masterclass at writing with this track. A double the entire time. The Vegas shooting is exactly what song is based on, along with his career on stage. I know someone who was at the Vegas show and thankfully he made it out ok. That bit towards the end when the reporter says "this shooting at a food festival in Northern California" happened about 30 min from my house.
to Quote Aristotle...“There is no great genius without a touch of madness.” EM on the mic is Madness but also 1 of the sharpest minds to pen any raps..this song hits so hard it is like the Mike Tyson of the modern day greats for this music genre,...very moving flow/video and the doubles thrown in are just insane=Genius and Madman who is Eminem!! love him or hate him you ARE witnessing History by listening to this man.
Craziest part that hits with the whole double is when the news anchor mentions the culprit and says “You can see behind me. This is what he looks like” right as it cuts to Eminem walking out onto the stage in front of a giant crowd. It’s not just a double bar wise, but the fact that Eminem literally relates to these mass sh00ters in a strange morbid way. He mentions lots of famous incidents like this involving horror like this or in his song “last one standing” how he says he’s trying to “recreate the feeling of 9/11 when the second plane hit the building” He goes in front of a crowd to KlLL the audience and also hates the media and wanted to make a statement with his violent songs in his early career and get headlines. “Bet you I’ll be in tomorrows paper. Who would the odds favor?” Instead of weapon he uses his music and pen to take people out. Like the Las Vegas sh00ter Em also has no motive or signs of mental illness either to explain why he does what he does, and has no idea how or why he got here but continues to do it anyway.
@wushdishmeen this has to be the most intellectual and descriptive analysis of this that I've read, not only is it well thought out but is explained in an such a way that even a pleb like me could follow and understand. Well done 👏 I doff my hat to you
This whole song darkness is just a massive Double... A beautiful Planned blueprint On how to make words mean 2 different meanings throughout the whole song telling 2 different stories at the exact same time he's a genius Lyrical formula creating genius
I LOVE how well you guys breakdown Marshall’s songs! And I’m so glad to see you guys did this song! This song keeps amazing me and I was so curious what you both thought of it! Thank you for another great reaction! I hope you’re building up your "fan base"! I find it interesting Marshall is a gun owner, always has been but I believe he wants to do whatever he can to use his platform to allow our children and grandchildren and ALL Americans in future generations to NEVER have to deal with these mass shootings. OMG THERE’S A MASS SHOOTING IN MAINE, RIGHT NOW!! Wow, whatta day to have shared this! Thank you again and sorry for the rant!
I own guns and am well aware that a lot of people whom have them absolutely, should not. Something needs to change, not sure exactly what that should be, but maybe we focus money more towards mental health than arresting people for weed...Texas, and others.
Ty for doing this, I know I requested it many times bc the entire song is a double 😉🫡💯🔥 Great reaction, enjoying watching your Eminem journey...even though you've heard some of his songs:) ❤ Em's storytelling is definetly unmatched, so vulnerable too 🐐👽
I got it immediately the first time I heard the line "That's a lot of shots huh?" My speaker system made it insanely easy for me to hear "Double entendre" right after. Then of course the visuals made perfect sense right after. This is just as, if not more powerful than Stan. But somehow it did not get that kind of reception right off. It is also considered almost too violent for folks today. But if it did anything, it showed his complete and utter story-telling ability. Most people, myself included, do not get the song's dual meaning until far into it.
That flyers jersey is fire fam. Not a flyers fan but a hockey fan and diehard wings fan. grew up watching old school hockey and the broad street bullies 😂. Flyers made the Russians quit playing they couldn't handle how physical Phillie was, great content as always fam. Stay Blessed 👊🏼
Em said in an interview with crook that he doesn’t want to take guns away but there’s something for people who stockpile guns and ammo especially automatic machine guns im in the uk and while we can own guns getting them is extremely hard and the process is intense and checks made on how you store clean and use them and we can’t own automatic guns because there is no reason for a citizen to have guns suitable for war maybe that’s just because I’ve never had to fear a gun or fear my child being shot in school that the idea of having them so readily available is so alien to me we had one mass school shooting in the early 90s and the gun laws changed which I am so thankful for
“You would like to believe there is a equal level of what all we can deal with but we’re just NOT designed like that! Not gonna lie.. had to rewind that part several times and hear it again. Respect!!!
I don't remember the name of the character from the series... he was Paper Boi's friend in the show Atlanta... I swear your friend makes me remember him....Great reaction guys! Greetings from Uruguay
When You listen to this song Nth time, You can't help amusement, when seeing people chilling to this song then goes... O FUCK! 😳 Also, this is one of songs, that You can't catch full meanings of, if not listening to it at least couple times. While watching video. 😉
Just an idea, you guys should do a vid then a 2.0 vid that you guys rewatch it but talk about all the stuff that you guys learned from the fans in the comments. 🤷🏽♂️ it would be fun for the em fans to see what you learned
Tre you talking about this reminds me of a shooting. The whole song is about the las vegas shooting, i lost ppl and you guys just act like it's a video smh, be better bros i love you guys!
Sorry for what u went through trust me… it’s our first time hearing or seeing the video… no disrespect intended. I really don’t know much about the situation… I hope I understand!!!💯❤️
It is just a video to someone who wasn't there and didn't lose anyone. You expecting them to read your mind and cater to the feelings of someone they don't know, in regard to a situation they're completely unaware of is beyond unreasonable. Be better...
Not primarly. First part is heavier on the perfromer perspective but slightly vegas shooter Part 2 was even Last part little performer and heavier shooter perspective
Yes this is real. It’s about the Mandalay Bay shooter. The whole song is a double entendre. I don’t think y’all got it. I don’t think you understand what Eminem was saying, but I do love y’all keep doing what you’re doing brother.
There is a track with 50, PAC and Nate Dog all on a remix to Till i Collapse… 50 drops imo one of his best verse to date and then PAC comes on and does what PAC BE!!!
You guys pause a lot but don’t catch the doubles and triples, like at all. I like watching your channel, I really do. I just wish you’d take his lyrics beyond surface value This entire song was a double about the Las Vegas shooting. You got there eventually but didn’t catch that every line is a double. And benzodiazepines are not anti depressants. They’re an anti anxiety medication.
Noticed this, too but give them time. I seen others barely catching stuff and eventually started to puck up as they went. Some came back for second reactions later. I suggest for these guys here to do the same. Start llisten carefully and when the bars getting caught come back later to some songs of Eminem and get a second reaction to it.
I agree.. I've been trying but they just miss too much, I like their vibe, I wish them the best with their channel but I don't think I'll be watching anymore
Imagine how frustrating it must be for them to be expected to catch every double in a song like this, that they've never heard before, by self- entitled, easily offended pricks who have zero self awareness. Go watch one of the many who fake hearing it for the 1st time, since your delicate sensibilities are so easily bruised
It wont make the slightest difference - both the horrific event and this genuis haunting powerful song didnt make a difference. Thats whats so fkt about merica
The whole song a double, the vegas shooter killing a show and Em killing a show....his pen is amazing
Yeah, I don't think they caught on to that. They were saying that he transitioned into the shooter part. Even though it was a double from the beginning of the song.

I remember realizing what this song was about and immediately getting goosebumps because the beat has bridge to it at that part.
When I first listened to the song at work as an overnight baker and heard "tear up the stage in a few" and "pop some caps" in the first verse my hands grabbed the table and my breath was shaky but I knew what he was hinting at. Still can't shake it off, he always speaks his mind.
The whole song is a double entendre, ur exactly right….it’s about Em’s career and the Vegas shooter!!! This was genius
This is a masterpiece. I’m Houston, yet a Stan, because of the absolute art of songs such as this. It’s two songs at the same time, who can do that? Other than Em?
Lil yachty. No fuckin idea what his songs are about could be anything. Minimum double meaning.
Tupac - me and my girlfriend

Ill NEVER forget watching this for the first time. So powerful and chilling!
One of the most underrated Rap verses (next to Andre 3k Life of the Party) off all time. Crazy how it goes so hard under the Radar.
The scope bar was pretty dope too. Reached for the scope but actually reached for the scope. 😊
Nice 👍
When he’s the shooter he has his hoodie up, when he’s Eminem the hoodies down. Amazing storytelling! 🔥
My first time seeing/hearing this!!! OMG how amazing!!
