The weatherproof matte inkjet sticker paper is a water-resistant film stock and adhesive but since the ink sits on top after printing, we'd recommend laminating with a clear gloss label sheet or self-laminating paper to make it truly waterproof! Very helpful video!
@onlinelabels That answers my question if you had printable vinyl sheets. Thanks. I'm currently running through some brands to test, and your company is well rated. I also cold laminate because if you get it wet colour still runs. However if you print with colour laser, i found the colour doesn't run BUT the print is duller. We want our stickers to be able to go one peoples water bottles, coolers, car, side of the canoe, etc. Thanks for the info!
I've done "water tests" with the online labels Weatherproof matte sticker paper. This paper is definitely water proof, and is what I use to make my tumbler stickers. I agree with the comment mentioned below from online labels. I've tested the water proof durability with and without applying a lamination sheet. With lamination sheet will protect your printed design on your sticker and definitely keeps your sticker waterproof. With out the lamination sheet, the paper itself is still waterproof, but your printed design can be scratched off over time.
I am interested in working at home and making a home shop 😊 I am really excited and I've learned so much from this video I just kind of wish there was a place where you could just go and order like a kid and then it gets sent to you and if you like certain things then you can order that specific thing
Great video and congratulations on the success of Sticker Guru. Question regarding your printer ink- do you use the standard printer ink or do you use dye ink to print your sticker? Thank you
I love using the waterproof stickers you recommended but I'm not able to cut the bottom layer for a die cut on my silhouette? What settings do you use to have it cut all the way through? Thanks in advance.
Thanks! You guys are so helpful! Edit to add: Silhouette has been way better than cricut in my experience. I had the cricut for months before I made the switch and I’m so glad I did.
I had better luck using PPG vinyl sticker paper with Avery stick on laminate for a dishwasher safe sticker, but for planner stickers, I do the weatherproof matte. It’s a nice quality paper.
Hi Lisa, I am thinking of starting a sticker business in India. I am confused about printers. can you tell me is Epson L130 printer is good for sticker printing or can you suggest any budget printer which print good quality vinyl stickers
You got this!! :) I actually talk about this on the very first slide of our first lecture, because this is a concern everyone has! And I talk about how you can make sure this fear doesn't come true. Cheers to your journey! - Lucy
great question! We commission artwork from artists, but design most of our sticker kits ourselves. There are a few select items that we get from manufacturers but we make most of our stickers in-house!
Our orders are typically pretty thick, so we haven't had any issues of bending in transit! You could put chipboards in the bubble mailers, but that'll add an additional cost, so it might be more worth it to just go with rigid cardboard mailers.
Yup, that's what we used for our first few years in business. Personally don't recommend it anymore because you can't ship an envelope with tracking, but it does work!
can i download AI art and use them as sticker? the license of leonardo ai said that if u make ur arts 'private" then u can use them as u want. but im not still sure if its a good idea.. what do u think?:) im not that good at drawing and ideas, thats why haha .and thx for ur video
Defff recommend a thermal label printer to print out shipping labels. It's like 3 seconds to print out a label sticker vs. 30 seconds to print, cut, tape label to a package. It adds up when you have to ship a hundred orders 🥲
We also don’t know how to draw! You don’t need to know how to in order to start a sticker business :) We buy art from Etsy or Creativemarket. Just be sure you adhere to the artist’s licensing rules!
@@StickerGuru How do i buy? Buy their digital product and tell them I'm gonna use it for my business or just directly contact the artist to ask for drawing? Sorry for the too much questions

Great video. I don't plan on starting a business but I do want to make stickers for my own personal use. Thanks for the info. 💞
Thank you for watching! :)
Thanks for Sharing!! I clicked on this so fast. I am not trying to own a sticker shop I just want to be able to make my own stickers ❤

You're welcome!! :) That's what we've heard about cricuts & silhouettes, thanks for confirming!
Which silhouette did you go with? I'm looking to add one to my studio.

I've been procrastinating for awhile now, thank you for boosting my inspiration!!! Hopefully I get the courage to pull the trigger soon! 🎉

would epson printers work?
Thanks again!
I would have added pictures of the equipment and supplies you mention. Just for both audio and visual confirmation. But thanks.

hi lisa and lucy
Are vinyl stickers good to sell ? And for vinyl stickers can i use HP deskjet 4120e printer?
Can't we use inktank printer?
How do you come up with sku numbers/names for stickers?
I group specific type of stickers together, give them a letter & a number. For example, our icon stickers are labeled I001 up to I128
I want to Start a sticker shop, specifically vehicle stickers
Do you take orders ??
I really want to start a sticker shop but I am afraid it won't be successful. So, I am considering your sticker course.
You got this!! :) I actually talk about this on the very first slide of our first lecture, because this is a concern everyone has! And I talk about how you can make sure this fear doesn't come true. Cheers to your journey! - Lucy
Thank you so much for this. Where did you get your inventory holder?
Thanks for watching! A mix of uline, the container store, ikea, and target
this is awesome, with so many stickers, do u design them all from scratch?

Is the cutting machine also call a "Silhouette Portrait 3 Electronic Die Cutting Machine" i am not sure if is the same you use?
Yep! We use the portrait 1 & 2 since we bought them years ago
Does the cutting machine cut all the way through to make individual stickers?
Yup! The silhouette portrait can kiss-cut and diecut, you can adjust the depth of the blade for the material you’re cutting.
Serious question: If you use the bubble mailer how does it not bend or mess up the stickers in transit?
Our orders are typically pretty thick, so we haven't had any issues of bending in transit! You could put chipboards in the bubble mailers, but that'll add an additional cost, so it might be more worth it to just go with rigid cardboard mailers.

You could also just use an envelope for shipping
Yup, that's what we used for our first few years in business. Personally don't recommend it anymore because you can't ship an envelope with tracking, but it does work!

We purchase art from Etsy or CreativeMarket. AI art is a gray area for us, so we personally wouldn’t recommend it but completely up to you!
I was wondering would it be more effective to print ship labels from your regular printer or buying a machine that prints out shipping sticker labels?
Defff recommend a thermal label printer to print out shipping labels. It's like 3 seconds to print out a label sticker vs. 30 seconds to print, cut, tape label to a package. It adds up when you have to ship a hundred orders 🥲
@@StickerGuru I definitely get that if someone has their business rolling 🙌🏻👍
Do you ladies have a particular brand or model you both like to use for the label printer ?@@StickerGuru
