Hi Mrs galik!! Ive been crocheting for about 25 years and put it down recently for quite a while. I recently picked it back up and absolutely fell in love with Tunisian (while looking for something different ) the whole afghan stitch just clicked with me!! Anyways do you know if there somewhere I can learn A. How to read the patterns and B. How to combine the different patterns? I looked on your website (I will be living in there by the way lol) but all I could really see for something big was a poncho. I want to do an Afghan in Tunisian and don't know where to start it seems overwhelming. But I love how all the different blocks and panels are different. I figure I'd ask the master because you my lady are AMAZING!! Thank you

Tunisian can only be worked in limited widths depending on the hook. There is an Afghan hook with an extension wire and stopper so you can greatly increase the width for an afghan. I don't like working with the wire that is why I prefer working panels and attaching them together with a decorative stitch like connecting granny squares or motifs together. Or grow the panels using the same stitch or a different stitch for each panel using this technique.
I'm sure there are books that can help you learn how to read a pattern. There are also websites that will also do that. A good place to start is the Crochet Guild of America (CGOA) at www.crochet.org.

Tanis Galik thank you for replying I'll try there because I'm completely turned around... I'm left handed and have no idea how to start my second panel.. the left side or the right side who knows !!! Haha

If you are adding to the left, chain the number of stitches you want in the new panel and attach the chain to the left foundation row. Follow the instructions adding the attachment in the beginning of the row instead of at the end. Lily Chin has a DVD on Tunisian Crochet that goes into great detail how to increase with Tunisian crochet and how to work in the round.

How do I stop the simple stitch from curling so much?

It is not easy. Three things you can try - First, begin and end your panel with 3 rows of Purl Stitch. This is worked in the opposite direction so it can help with the curling. Second, block your project when done. Third, add a strong edging worked on the back or wrong side for at least the first row. I often use a hdc. Hope this helps. Tanis

Watch Kim Guzman on no curl where she puts it through the bar and the loop at the top and it works .. very little curl

OK so would this work in all Tunisian knit stitch panels? Or Tunisian honeycomb?

You can use any Tunisian pattern you wish. You can make all the panels the same pattern or you can switch them up in any design you want. You're creating your own unique afghan.
