Yes discovery first, and you can put together a brand questionnaire for them to go through even before the discovery call. Ask the same questions you did in the brand questionnaire on the call. The StoryBrand Framework will help you ask great questions. Just wanted to help.
StoryBrand has been my go to framework for web and beyond for a while now. The 7 step script makes it easy for clients to build a cohesive relatable brand narrative.

Sounds good, but I might even have on the homepage.... are you a buyer? Are you a seller? Just below the fold. This can be two boxes side by side, with some text on two different pictures or graphics leading to those pages!
