- After purchasing my first property in Spain in 2017 as a holiday home, I then decided to sell up in UK and move permanently to Spain in order to apply for residency before the dreaded BREXIT!
I have since sold the first property and bought this one.
This series of videos will show you the progress of my work on the property.
This video focuses on the kitchen dining area and office / entrance.
With Spanish property purchase taxes for non EU residents being a controversial factor right now, I hope that it won't put you off and that you can proceed with your dream (if you are non EU).
I hope that the video will give you some inspiration and confidence in purchasing a property that may not be perfect but that has that special something that makes you buy it.
Nicely tasted, thanks for the visit.
I love the color and yes, I would do the fireplace. I like pops of color.
Your home is looking lovely Lesley, don’t worry it will all come together in time🥰🍷
Thanks Paul …. And breathe. Xx
Love watching your vids ❤
Love the overall ensemble, the wood touches, very cozy and beautiful. I absolutely love the Flamenco flavours here and there! Gorgeous home Lesley :) And looking forward to seeing the front door👌
Glad you like it …. The door is gorgeous it will make a big difference 🥰
Great video as ever, Lesley. I know what you mean about the timber yard in Jaen. I lasted about 2 minutes before apologising & running away. 😆
Really ha ha I was a nightmare for them 🤣
@@olivegrovesandgrapevinessp7293 He rattled off a load of angry Spanish at me at 200mph & the only bit I could really pick up was "Leroy Merlin" so that's where I ended up. 😆
well done ...looking gorgeous with loads of light...and nice touches
Thank you! 😊
What nice fun to watching you I love your tap😅❤
Ah it’s looking amazing. 👍👍 love that blue! Definitely stick it on the chimney breast! If you don’t like it then you can always paint it back. Some lovely pieces of ornaments and furniture 👍👍👍
@@colin7632 yes think I will paint chimney beast blue too

Aww Thankyou hope you manage to get something you love

🥰
Great job, keep up the great work Lesley
Thank you! Will do!
Fantastico 🎉❤
It's looking good girl, well cosy, will be perfect when it's finished
Thankyouuuuuu.
Everything looks great!
I do have an unsolicited opinion though - maybe you could find some fabric for the kitchen curtains with a little bit of blue matching the painted wall and beam where the flamenco lady is.
Because everything is so serene, it wouldn't hurt to have a pattern on those curtains.
Yea I’ve been wondering t wether to have curtains there or not! The ones on the other door have a pale grey and yellowish flower.
I think curtains would make it very traditional in the Andalusian style.
You have a really good eye, so I'm sure it will look fantastic.
You could match the curtains with the grey and yellow as well. Sounds lovely!
I love the idea of thrifting and finding things as you go to make it really special. Also, it's budget friendly.
I really hate a generic room where everything matches exactly.
P.S. I just got your joke about the Sagrada Familia!
Awesome stuff! Which region are you in? I'd love to know where to look for similar priced houses. 🎉
Thankyou , im in Subbetica Region of Andalusia 🙂 properties are great value.

@@philiplitchfield9625 I was always there as my cousins lived there
The kitchen is looking great! It's very similar to the type of traditional built in kitchen that we want to put into our house in Xátiva. Would you be willing to share an idea of the cost of building that type of kitchen?
@@amywoods4792 of course but I need to work it out as was tied in with the tiling etc. I’ll try to add it to the next video.
Work top wood was 350 labour would cost around 1500 all in in guessing
@@amywoods4792 then sink oven extractor dishwasher about 2000
Great Job so far!! Would love some help on my home. Just bought in your area as well.
Ahh nice which village?
Hola, from our mountain in Spain. Just found your channel. We've been here 19 years, lived totally off grid for 6 years, more off grid than anyone I've seen so far & we loved it. We eventually built a beautiful, large house & after living in that for the next 10 years we wanted another adventure, project and challenge. Having seen a house many years before in same area, unlived in for many years we took a gamble in our 70's. Huge renovation, reduced me to tears more than a build, but we love it. The house & land has been untouched for over 20 years, so it was definitely a challenge, one worth taking. Good luck, look forward to following you. ❤
Bit confused as to how many moves you’ve made in Spain? We’re looking to move over next year but not looking coastal.
Just once but I’ve bought 4 houses there in 6 years.
Liz, can you provide me with information on a property I am interested in? I would like to have a structural engineer inspect the property.
Which property?
@@olivegrovesandgrapevinessp7293 ate you able to help me with some properties. You deleted my response twice.
Is it easy to find workmen and does the language barrier cause any problems ? I am looking to buy a house that needs some renovation work 😊
Hi yes workman are easy to find but you need to organise well in advance. Most people communicate with the builders by text with goodie translate and pointing 😂
