Good one. I’m 69 and I’ve been making my own harnesses for many years. I’m partial to slow death hooks and flouro for line.

Big walleye fishery out here on the Columbia River. Large numbers of walleye and BIG smallies!

Nice n simple. I've fished for Walleye on Greers Ferry Lake in Arkansas. You may have heard it has world record catches of Walleye .... YES in central Arkansas.
My good friend Phillip Stepp lived here for a short while, super cold day (for here 17°) Phil n I go fishing, he taught me ALOT about Walleye, he lives in Duluth Minnesota.
I totally fell in love with trolling and casting where creeks meet main rivers, it almost killed me to let this HOG go due to slot regulations.
Anyway, really enjoyed listening and watching you.
    Thanks,
    Nick in Redfield Arkansas

This Jim Collins. Question, is the octopus hook a size 4/0 ? Wanted to make sure I was not getting the wrong size. Thanks for the video, great instructions on doing your own, which I want to do!

A good harness that I use and I highly recommend is a gold hook at the bottom and a red hook above with two purple beads and two green beads with the clevis then a green and purple blade

My buddy owns Warrior Lures. They also custom paint crank baits for walleye and they have a line of their own spoons for salmon and trout as well. I use their custom painted Berkly Flicker Shads for walleye and smallies.. Oh and the have spinner blades for your crawler harnesses as well. Check them out online..

Cody, in your walleye harness video, you show your box of blades, there are a couple of colors I see in there that I would like to get for my own collection, anyway I could get a color of them if I showed you and perhaps a place to order? Thanks Matt

Cody. I just started making harnesses for lake erie east end.
I found a 10" long blunt end hypodermic needle. It is 0.050 dia with a 0.025 hole through the center.
I select my beadsand clevis put them on the tube. Feed the leader through hold the line slide off beads pull leafer out and add finish.
For frayed used leader i cut off barrel insert line through pull until besds are at tube work besds on tube pull out leader make a new one finsh just like making a new harness for us old guys who rule the eye sight its hard to put the leader through the bead hole.
Question on your box of blades is that a compete kit you can purchase I f so whete. I like it.thanks got to go i just got a hit.

Do you ever add lead weights, if so where in line do you put them and what kind ?

    • @CodyS
      @CodyS  9 месяцев назад

In-Line weights from time to time, normally a couple feet in front of the crawler harness.

Cody, what size is that Plano box that fits the pool noodles? There’s a similar Plano at menards, but it looked much deeper than the dia of a noodle…

    • @CodyS

I believe this is just the Plano XL pro Latch not the XXL

I typically use snap weights. Otherwise the weight will normally sit in front of the swivel or loop.
