I used to make deliveries to G.P. back in the mid-''80s and I'm glad to hear that aspect hasn't changed. I loved driving into your town back then, I was delighted and charmed, I loved it.

One of Rogue Creamery's blue cheeses won the World Cheese Awards last year. First time an American winner, first time a blue cheese.. Also everything they make is amazing just saying.
I could have watched eight more hours of this. Also, Rogue Creamery legit won an award for the best cheese in the world, and it is totally worth the farts.
I work in Central Point and our business does work for the Rogue Creamery. Actually just went there for the first time today. My mom was up from right over the border in California and she wanted to check it out.
Grew up in Grants Pass and after living all over the state of Oregon I came back and live here now. I love it here as it is a beautiful place to call home. Ty Burrell went to the same high school that I did. Hidden Valley High School represent!
Grants Pass is a short drive from Ashland where they have the Shakespearian Festival including 4 or 5 theaters and almost year-long plays. It's a very active, vibrant community.
lol at the library joke; I grew up in Grants Pass and for a few years we barely even had a library because all the old folks voted out the taxes used to pay for it
One other fun fact about the town, they have an In-N-Out burger place. It used to be the most northern restaurant in their chain. Now its the Kaiser, Or restaurant a little North of Salem, Or. When you visit the area don't forget the Oregon Caves in Cave Junction! Then get on Hwy 62 (near Medford) and head up to Crater Lake national park.

Grants Pass was named for the path that Captain Ulysses Grant took from the Oregon Trail to Fort Humboldt in Northern California, where he served as Commandant for a couple of years before resigning his commission. He was later recommissioned as a general during the Civil War. You may have heard of him. Yes, it's all about weed.
Grants Pass is indeed beautiful! They also have wonderful white water rafting and great beer. Wait... maybe I shouldn't be telling more people to come!
Ironically, no. Their high school also has a turf field, so you wouldn't even get grass stains from marching there. Their uniforms last I checked are black jumpers and shoes with blue and silver tops. They've been in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade within the past 10 years, so imagined if you googled it, you would be able to see a clip of them. I think they were the first Oregon band in the parade in something like 40 years.

I was born in Escanaba Michigan, but I grew up in Springfield Oregon, known for absolutely nothing! (Except for being across the river from Eugene Oregon, and right next to Glenwood) and having the Broiler Festival, to eat murdered chickens.

My boyfriend and I got an exclusive on the area a few yrs ago to sell Sunshine #4 a popular soil out of Portland. He works year round and I do soil half the year. Anyway, I guess I do understand there not being a ton for younger folks. But I hope you find more and more fun things to do and work keeps getting better for you. The season is here :) take care.
