마이크 한 대를 가운데에 놓고 맛깔스럽게 노래하는 편성과 과장된 의상∙헤어스타일을 갖추어 아름다운 화성을 내는 세 명의 가시내들, 마치 동네에서 노래 한가락씩 했던 여자 세 명이 만나 결성한 듯한 정감 있는 그룹 ‘바버렛츠’(The Barberettes)를 소개한다.
시간여행 걸그룹 바버렛츠
2012년 결성된 3인조 하모니 그룹 바버렛츠는 작사∙작곡∙편곡을 맡고 있는 리더 안신애를 중심으로 김은혜, 박소희로 이루어졌다. 50~60년대 미국의 보컬그룹 앤드루즈 시스터스(Andrews Sisters) 또는 한국의 김 시스터즈와 같은 예스러운 음악을 모티브로 하여 아름다운 화성과 특유의 복고적 정서로 관객들과 소통한다. 2014년 첫 정규 앨범 ⌜바버렛츠 소곡집 #1⌟을 발표했으며, “고전적인 스타일의 멋스럽고 세련된 재창조”라는 평가를 받으며 대중과 평단의 관심을 받았다. 이 앨범으로 [한국대중음악상]에 ‘올해의 신인’, ‘최우수 팝 음반’, ‘최우수 팝 노래’ 등 3개 부문에 후보로 이름을 올리기도 했다.
세계를 사로잡은 3인조 여성 걸그룹
지난 3월, 세계 음악 페스티벌 ‘사우스 바이 사우스 웨스트(SXSW)’에 참가하여 미국의 두왑(팝적인 화성을 내세운 고전적 보컬 음악 장르)을 능숙하게 소화한 이들은 현지 음악 관계자들로부터 열광적인 환호를 받았다. 자신들의 음악과 닮은 한국 뮤지션의 음악, 그리고 무엇보다 바버렛츠의 출중한 화음이 미국인들을 사로잡은 것이다. 1959년에 한국 걸그룹으로는 최초로 미국 진출에 성공한 김 시스터즈의 음악이 약 반세기 후 재현되는 순간이었다. ‘시간여행 걸그룹’ 이란 별칭답게 특유의 정서로 세대와 국경, 취향을 자유롭게 넘나드는 바버렛츠가 [EBS 스페이스 공감] 무대에 오른다. 복고적인 향취가 가득한 경쾌하고 흥겨운 공연으로 여러분을 초대한다.

I think I'm addicted to this song !!! I wish I knew what they were saying. But, regardless, WOW !! Those vocals are incredibly beautiful !! The tone of the lead singers voice in this song sends chills up my spine !!! SO BEAUTIFUL !!!

Anybody have the guitar chords for Mrs. Lonely? Can't find it online and would love to be able to play it.
It's a 3 chord blues in the key of C...........so the root is C and after 8 bars he'll go to F and the turnaround chord will be G7
What happened to their appearance? I liked the original '50's look they had....looks too like there have been come changes in the line up.
