I'm myself a VFX artist but after watching a couple of lessons here which unfortunately I always took for granted, I can say for sure that I was missing 80% of what mocha was capable of. Thanks a lot for this free but priceless training.
Thank you for explaining the difference between skew/shear vs perspective. I thought that since the parameters are on a hierarchy, you may as well check the perspective box all the time. Thank you for explaining that they can be used in different situations.
It doesn't necessarily hurt, but you won't always get the exact movement you're looking for. I know people that just rock the default settings for almost every shot and they're fine. It's good to know what to look for when the tracking isn't quite as perfect as you need.
Nice but around 09:33 you said that this area (the shape area) is important if we want to insert something etc... in a previous video you said that the critical area is the surface one, not the shape area.. at 9.33 you show only the shape area and we have no view of what is happening in the surface area.. Am I wrong ?
I can see where the confusion came from. This part was just talking about using an area in general to drive tracking data/the Surface. You are absolutely correct in thinking that the Surface is the critical thing to look at when using the track data.
Quick question 🙋🏻♂️ please… how do the layers work? Got a video on that? I see you moving the layers up and down in the left window. What does it mean when one is on top of the other one? And also, do you do one on one coaching? I guess that wasnt a quick question but THANK YOU for your time 🙏🏼
When tracking, all the layers on top will cut out the layers below. This is useful when you want to exclude elements from tracking, for example an arm going across someone's body. If you carry on the course you will see more examples and explanations of this. Here's a video all about track mattes : ruclips.net/video/jhw08UxIa18/видео.html We don't do personal training, although there are companies that do. We do have a good Mocha user forum, which is a great place to ask more project based questions : forum.borisfx.com/
It is very hard to find these videos in the search bar. Even if you type almost the whole namo of the video. Might be issues with the keywords or stuff?
It could also be that the videos are quite new and Google has to determine whether people are finding them useful or not. Liking the video is a good way to help that. You can also bookmark the entire playlist for later : ruclips.net/p/PLTKXtq-pvDm8Xa3vkXBPYuZSjQpGAPXgX

Does it hurt to simply use all of them on every shot?
