Welcome to 'Project 90' - Mary's training routine for a sub 1:30 half marathon. Since Mary started her running journey 18 months ago she has grown in confidence, ability and aspiration. From a 10k PB (twice) to a half marathon PB (twice) she realised that the potential for a sub 1:30 half is on, after running 1:34 at Paddock Wood.
In this vlog we'll be sharing the training Mary is going through as well how she feels about it and what (if any) are the biggest hurdles and stumbling blocks she faces.
The beauty of this is you can follow along. The sessions will be out there (we'll mainly share them all on instagram) and you can do your own training to take you where you need to go for a 10k or half marathon. Project 90 - Game On! Спорт

Good luck Mary, I'm sure you will (or have since I'm late) smash(Ed) it! I've just signed up for my first ever Half! Hoping to beat a 1:54 time reasonably. Only been running a couple of months and only picked my training up 3 weeks ago - but I'm hitting 8min/miles for the most part currently!
Hey Nathan, thanks for the message. She hasn’t quite smashed it yet but we’re in the process! 😂 which half are you doing? And good luck! Look after yourself. That’s my biggest tip as a coach. Running is just part of it so make sure you stretch and strengthen etc. Let us know how it goes 👍🏻
@@ThisMessyHappy I'm sure she will 🙌 and it's the Great North West Run based in Blackpool! I've got someone I know helping with coaching me and trying to make sure i don't get too far ahead of myself! I have until Feb to get there!
@@ThisMessyHappy I just remembered this comment, I ran this on the 16th of Feb! It was my first ever race & Half Marathon and I completed it in 1:53:31 with 36+ mph winds and 50mph gusts and about 6 miles running against the wind, so I was pretty stoked for it!

@@ThisMessyHappy thank you! I'm currently signed up for the Great North Run and the Gateshead 10k! I was also looking at signing up for the Manchester 10k. I've been adding some interval and pace training into my routine too! How about for both of you?

Anything is possible. BTW, did you know that it qualifies you not only for London, but a CHAMPIONSHIP place. With your background of sports and activity, should be a given especially as already at 1:36 :-)
Thank you! Yes that’s the aim. Championship spot for Mary. That would be sooooo coool. She’d start ahead of me... so I’d have to chase her down 😂

i cannot see you Mary not achieving the goal to be honest. with Winnie a s a training partner who wouldn't want to get out on those paths. enjoy, and its only a few seconds per mile off your half marathon best to achieve that goal. yes only a few seconds per mile, think about it that way, ps dougie osborne.
