  • Ms. Blanche Carter Thrash composed a poem for her Spelman College professor and friend, Dr. Christine King Farris.
Blanche presented her last poem in Ebenezer’s Heritage Sanctuary at the “Make A Joyful Noise” on Saturday, July 15, 2023. As Ebenezer’s poet, we had no idea this was a final and farewell blessing by poet Blanche Carter Thrash as she gained her heavenly wings two weeks later on Monday, August 14, 2023.
She will always be remembered as Ebenezer’s esteemed poet for the many litanies, poems, and special programming for our Senior Pastors, Women’s Day, Christian Education, and retirement for Pastor Emeritus Rev. Dr. Joseph Lawrence Roberts, Jr.
Because of her love and faith in Christ, Blanche’s adult children, family, friends, Spelman sisters, AkA sisters, and fellow educators are forever connected through her legacy.
    Rest in peace, Sister Blanche!
