Lean GroundBeef I deal in reality too. I'm in vet school and I have had to take SEVERAL human anatomy and physiology classes. Do I think that chiropractors are miracle workers? Absolutely not. But you are saying they have absolutely no benefit which flat out isn't true. Cracking joints does nothing for the most part, but the micro-alignments they make to your spine can shift the vertebrae off of a nerve and it can completely change your world. I had Sciatica REALLY bad. And I thought my last option was back surgery because I could barely walked. I went into a chiropractor like 10 times, and I still don't feel back pain. (It's been 2 years) so believe what you will. But I have personal experience that they can help you. Like I said, they aren't Jesus or anything. But saying it does NOTHING is flat out false.
Lean GroundBeef I completely agree with that part. Chiropractors claiming they can fix nausea and headaches and hand shaking and stuff like that is absolutely ridiculous. I think specifically when it comes to the spine and spinal cord, SOME of them have a rough idea of what they're doing and have the ability to help SOME people. If you've got cancer, don't be a regard and think a chiropractor can help you. And in fact in my experience they can only help with muscle, joint, and nerve pain. Just like acupuncture and all that stuff. So it is ENTIRELY possible that it's placebo, but the amount of pain I was in couldn't be effected by me thinking I got better. I litterally couldn't put weight on my left leg because of how back the sciatic nerve hurt. But a chiropractor fixed me up. I apologize for my first comment to you. I assumed you were just some asshole claiming that stuff doesn't work. And I was wrong to assume. Clearly you are intelligent, and I apologize for insulting said intelligence. I just think it's a little harsh to say they do NOTHING. They sure as hell don't do much. But when all else fails, anything is worth a shot. That's what science is all about isn't it? Fail until you find something that works. And I am just in vet school, so you have more knowledge on the human side of things. All inwas saying is someone is in excruciating pain from a nerve in their back and NOTHING has worked and their options are essentially chiropractor or suicide, definitely try out the chiropractor. I saw X-rays of my spine before and after being treated and I did notice a difference in the straightness But honestly, there are so many factors that it's scientifically impossible to say that "it was him cracking my back that fixed me" because it was likely him popping a sore vertebrae, getting temporary relief enough to stand up straighter, forcing my spine into a better position. Who knows? Anyways. Again, I apologize for being so hostile.

Aviewer dr, Gregory Johnson? Let's see, he's a fool because of the way he treats his clients. He's not interested in getting to the bottom of things. Every person who comes through his office gets treated the same way. A few clicks and cracks here and that god awful Ringdinger that he does. The move itself is fine, stretching the vertebrae. But the way he does it with such a lack of care. Most his clients always clench up when he does it. Does he not notice that? He's not paying attention to his customers. Again, he's not trying to get to the root of any problem.
I probably was in a bad mood when I wrote that. But as a fellow therapist I stay by my word

I like that you are actually EXPLAINING what you are doing...I am having a lot of issues that I think YOU would be able to address better than any of the other chiropractors I have tried in my area. Unfortunately you are a 2 hour drive from me. but from my right side of my jaw all the way down my shoulder and right side I constantly have issues and have to self crack/stretch in order to get myself to 'acceptable'. I'm only 31. A lot of pain refuse to take pain meds or muscle relaxers. Haven't tried acupuncture but I'm broke I can't even hold a full-time job right now because at some point the pain gets so bad I've actually thought I was having a stroke...Just want to get back into manufacturing and ultimately back into the gym...when I can afford it. Currently doing exercises at home but the motivation is gone.

It's definitely possible to crack the tmj. I know this because I've done it on myself hundreds of times. It feels fantastic. It might be hard to do on someone else, but it can be done.
