If they run it back all it does is make sure that Cronin gets fired and Billups isn't brought back. We 100% KNOW Scoot/Ant is not going to work and handicapping Sharpe makes zero sense. Even without the 2025 draft the team needs to pick a damn direction. Lots of expensive vets that don't help the team win and take up the youngsters playing time in a freaking rebuild is just dumb. Plus I don't buy for a second that Grant, Ant or Ayton are "leaders" in the locker room.
You have to have a certain salary level so you can't just run it with rookie deals. I expect at least 1-2 vets are going to be traded this summer. Sharpe has looked good in moments, but still needs to prove he's the guy. Let's see what he does in Summer league and on the Canadian team.
@@talltim9579 I highly doubt SS17 will play in the Summer League. Especially if he's playing on the Canadians squad. But I do agree with you that he still has some proving to do. I hate his lackadaisical defense. 😫 But I am a proud fan of his so I'm hoping like U said that he does indeed show us something.
I somewhat agree, but I don't think Scoot is ready to be a starter he's close. But until he learns to play with pace and finds his stride i'd rather have Anfernee and Sharpe start in the backcourt. It really doesn't matter who plays the 1 or the 2 between those two guys. Because if Sharpe plays the 1 that just gives him more experience with the ball and deciding when to create for others and when to create for himself. Simons will most likely be the leading scorer regardless, so it can't hurt to have him at the 2 on offense. If at any point Scoot starts showing qualities of a consistent and reliable starting PG then that would be the time to make a trade to a team that desperately needs a good combo guard like Simons. I wouldn't bet all my chips on Scoot either, there are other young guards that I like just as much as him that don't get much love, like Jaden Ivey for example. But if Scoots starts looking more consistent I wouldn't mind trading Simons for a solid vet like Mike Conley, packaged with Naz Reid and at least 2 draft picks. Then trading Jermi Grant for an expiring deal and draft picks. Then, signing whoever our ideal free agent is in the following off-season. Wallah, we'd have an established core that's being able to develop a great veteran leader in Conley, a high-motor guy in Naz Reid, the most optimal free agent available, and several draft picks. A rebuild should only take a 1-2 years at most to put the vast majority of your pieces in play
Brogdon and Grant are the most logical to trade, but it all depends on which teams find value in those guys. Simons is less likely until the new kids show more than they have so far. Again if somebody really wants Simons and gives us a great return, then he could be moved too.
Wtf? Rupert? His ceiling is thybulle at best Ant can be maybe an all-star, scoot likely, sharpe maybe a superstar, just his engine is kinda weak. Toumani limit is probably all NBA defensive 2nd team Jabari maybe top 5 6th man of the year. Ayton maybe rebounding champ. None of blazers players have that superstar potential or even a star, sharpe is the best bet, but if he had scoots attitude he would've easily been a top 10 player like Anthony Edwards. But unlikely
I think they are running it back. Chauncey thought the team was good enough last year. Theyll add guy who will help get in the playoffs now rather than guys with an high ceiling.
Blazers should trade up for the #3 and grab Clingan. He’d be a great fit with Scoot for rim running and defensive anchor if we get Flagg or Boozer in 25,26 draft
I doubt he is there at 3, clignan has been wowing lots of teams during his workouts, they need to trade up to 1 if they want him. Ayton, 7th pick 2 seconds for capella and number 1 overall
@@CarloBarlo69 Ayton is over paid and doesn’t play good enough defense and needs the ball in his hands. We don’t need a mid range scoring big man. If we aim for Flagg or Boozer in the next few drafts, Clingan would have a better fit plus his upside
I like Noah Clowney, assuming the 76 era pick is a first, I’d say there needs to be another first thrown in. Especially if we are giving up 3 starting caliber players and a top 40 pick
Dear Jody, Please do the honorable thing & just sell the team. You're a disgustingly greedy owner that can careless about the Blazermaniacs of Rip City! It's evident! Sell!
I love your show!!!

Few teams have salary cap to accomodate vet player like grant and brogdon

Better trade your 2 sec rnd picks for future picks you dont need 4 rookies at the same time .
I think it's weird not to announce that coaching hire. All it does is create a discourse around Chauncey losing his coaching position.

Thybulle, Rob, Malcolm 40th pick for Ben Simon's, clowney and 76ers protected pick?
What a wildly specific yet obscure trade, yet vague because I’m not sure of the 76’ers protections on whatever pick you’re talking about
No ben is done and way to much of a overpay and he makes way to much money

Here before the Zach Edey die hards
we can get excited for new Blazer players, but getting excited for new assistant coaches is not going to help. The coaches do not play in games.
