It's a reliability and security issue. The analog is easy to tamper with. Some people looking to buy used bikes could be scammed into buying high-mileage ones thinking they are only slightly used. Also, analog odos tend to stop working as the bike gets older due to wear and tear on the mechanical parts. Digital odos are still better in the long run. Sure, the display may stop working at some point but as long as the chip is fine, replacing the display will get the odo working and without lost mileage.
Can you prepare Mp3 scooters for my poor country Pakistan like built after ww2 for Italy, Honda & other's at reasonable price for white collar?It is an excellent design.Can be easily run by anyone.All the vespa models are expensive in my country. Even no white collar can think to buy this majestic vehicle.

@Michael Mckenna , as I rode Lambretta scooters back in the sixties , I’ve still got the passion in me from those days . Perhaps I was unnecessarily harsh about the current Vespa’s in hindsight .

If the lambretta company, and piaggio realized the huge market for retro style scooters with modern brakes, engines etc... They would be on to a winner.... I need a cool daily runner and the new Vespas, which I honestly don't like that much, are the next best thing to a royal alloys which we can't get here in Japan

For that sort of money a polished stainless steel exhaust system should be standard, in 3 months them exhausts will be brown rusted lumps of steel that look horrible, stainless steel is not much more money over mild ferrous steel,
Vespa goes cheap with lots of material. They also know their scooters have defects and keep mute about it until they are sued and/or forced via a recall.
For Vespa ..the sellers just sitting there, & the buyers will come. Except the rational's buyers. Because Vespa needs combination of technology & art. But the Vespa's owners still a jerk if they have 'satanic's behaviours'. Let's be a generous, low-profile Vespa-er.
