Dave had no reason to offer 100% of the IP and to a offer of a raise with 100% of the IP in 1 year was a crazy deal to walk away from. Also the idea that it’s acceptable to sign a contract and then after getting the security of that contract, decide actually this isn’t in my favor anymore so I’m going to try to force you to let me out of the contract is crazy to me. There comes a point where Alex had to look out for own career and she, to her credit, did just that. Why let someone, who doesnt know what the hell shes doing, take you down with them . Portnoy could have very easily just fired them both, he owned the show entirely, and simply just replaced them.....in the end, Alex came to her senses and Sofia let a man shes no longer even involved with, cost her millions of dollars.

basically as call her daddy got popular, alex and sofia were renegotiating their deal with barstool but they couldn't agree on what they both wanted so alex ended up taking the deal and sofia did her own thing but with a lottt more drama lol

Her voice is so annoying and droney, She was greedy with money! She wanted to make millions right when show blew up but Dave Portnoy had them on contract for 70k a year each, for 3 years..but at end of 1st year Dave offered them 500k a year each. Sophia wanted way more money and her bf at the time was shopping the podcast to other media outlets plus bf didn't like Dave P so he was trying to milk him for a ton of money and Dave wasn't having it..Alex was smart, she wanted the deal of 500k a year but Sophia didn't so Alex said screw it and did it on her own..Alex said it was inevitable that it wouldn't have worked out between them anyways. Alex is on 60m contract with Spotify and just signed another 100m plus deal...she is doing just fine with droney voiced Sophia.

When the pod blew up Sofia's voluntarily veered way out of her lane and got her Chad boyfriend involved because once again she is entitled brat and as a result she lost everything. Sophia KNEW the worth and Alex didn't that is what happened. Dave is shrewd and he ruined her in the press. Sophia, was trying to get Alex to understand the value they had, Alex went behind her back many times even accepting money behind her back that is a breach of contract between them. Alex will forever be the girl that betrayed her best friend. The guy that Sophia was dating tried to help them. Its negotiating, and Dave also KNEW THE VALUE of that they had, that's why he gave them the IP, or offered it. Their relationship her and Alex was fractured but Sophia would have never betrayed Alex the way Alex betrayed her. I am shocked that the smear campaign Dave engaged in is still effective judging from the comments here. I know the business of podcasting, and If I was Sophia I would have SUED ALEX for breach.

Feel bad for what happened to her. She had professionals in the industry backing her, and were taking control of the deal with barstool (intelligent move). Portnoy took Alex aside, away from the professionals, scared her into thinking he would shelf the podcast out of spite, it was a bluff because no way Portnoy would throw away 10s of millions of dollars out of spite. Alex couldnt see that though, she freaked out and destroyed her best friend/partner out of panic
