    Genius me meant to reply to Mr Lee's comment. I almost bought the BevelTech the day it came out because it uses the Apex accessories. I compared the packages from EdgePro and the best option for me was the 2 stone package with the fewest accessories, because I use ceramics and diamond matrix on my Apex. Thanks for feature benefiting the BevelTech.

    One other thing that's important when investing in a high end guided-rod system...customer support, and you won't go wrong with Cody from Edge Pro...

      This is night and day difference from the Apex. Similar but so much better in many ways. The adjustable and guide with all the degrees marked on the guide and the heavy base make this sharpening system excellent. The base is sold seperately but so worth it if you like to move your sharpener around for comfort. I do think you are going to like it. Thank you for your feedback.

    Hey, Buddy -
    Happy to see this one, I think TSPROF & Hapstone have some very serious competition here with this "BevelTech" by Edge Pro.
    I like that it's somewhat less complicated than the competitors, and...that it's made right here in the good ol' USA!
    I would have seriously considered going with this had I not pulled the trigger on my "Master Kit" by TSPROF...

      Hello Dave, good to hear from you again. This is a great sharpener and fast to set up. Tsprof is great also but being made in the USA makes this Bevel Tech highly sought after. Great to hear from you friend.

      Same here, W-Dog - I've been recovering from caring for my Mom; she had dementia and passed in October at age 90. It was very difficult all alone, but was a gift to be able to be here for her when she really needed me.
      Anyhow - I busted out the ol' TSPROF and thought getting back into sharpening might be helpful. It's good to be back...

    The BevelTech is designed to make sharpening faster for people who primarily sharpen knives. It is very robust in construction. Its primarily selling points are that there are no suction cups or bases and the angles are laser engraved on the stone arm post. It is similar sized to the Apex. It bridges the gap between the Apex and Pro in price also. Hope this helps.

    The magnet holder just doesn’t look all that secure and safe. Looks like there’s a lot of play in it.

    • @WardogOutdoors
      @WardogOutdoors  Месяц назад +1

      It is secure but the knife should be supported by hand as well as the magnets. Pressure from sharpening can move the knife if not secured by hand. It is so much better using the magnets, then without the magnets. It is not as secure as a clamp that some guided sharpeners use, but thats the good thing about it is you don't have to lock a clamp onto your blade. Its fast and easy to use this sharpener. The magnets really help to keep knife in position but not so much pressure that you can't adjust the knife once it's on the platform and also help to hold it from slipping around. Thank you for the feedback.

    Do you know why you didn't have a replacable plastic lip on the adjustable knife guide like the apex to provide more contact with the back of the knife?

      I dont know why this one doesn't have it.

    Can you explain the difference between the Edge Pro Apex/Professional model VS BevelTech. I have the Edge Pro Professional kit for a very long time and the BevelTech seems to have the same features. It wouldn’t make sense to buy another system if they both have the same adjustments. Thanks for sharing your experience.

      I have the Apex and some of the differences of the two are the angle is laser engraved from 7-35 degrees on the bevel tech, the apex has color coding stamped for angles. The Apex has rubber feet, the Bevel Tech has an 8lb base that can be ordered with it so its extremely sturdy. The Bevel Tech also has a pivot so it can be set to extremely low angles. The handle on the Bevel Tech is oversized for a more comfortable grip. The Bevel Tech can be adjusted to hold any sized stone. The Bevel Tech has a magnetic angle guage holder. I don't know much about the Professional model as I have not used it yet. Thank you for your comment.

    Will this sharpener work with convex edges?

    • @WardogOutdoors
      @WardogOutdoors  2 месяца назад

      I may have seen a convex tool, i cant remember. You could sharpen at 20.5, then 20, then 19.5 to get the convex shape. You will have to look on Edge Pro website to see if they offer a convex accessory.
