I live in a town in Alabama with no indian food anywhere near me. Thanks to you and Als kitchen my kitchen is the local Indian restaurant. My co workers love when i bring leftovers to work. Thanks so much for the culinary inspiration.
I moved from the UK to Nova Scotia 17yrs ago, thank god. However, if there’s is just one thing I miss about Britain is the the fantastic curries, I’ve tried and tried in vain to cook my own but nothing ever came close……until now. Cooked this dish last night and OMG, this is what I’ve been searching for for so long, I can’t thank you enough! Indian food here in Nova Scotia just doesn’t cut it.
Oh my heart - this recipe brings back so many memories. I was born in Canada, but my father was born in Sirajganj; his chicken curry with potato was my favourite recipe growing up too! I miss my dad so much - thank you for sharing this recipe!
I do appreciate Latif, the full loving and deserving credit you attribute to your dear Mum. She will be so proud of you for that and I'm thinking of your Mum as I'm preparing this for tea. Many thanks to you for sharing it with us x
This could be the recipe I've been looking for for a long time. I used to work at an Indian restaurant when I was young and still at school on a Friday & Saturday night. The curry made for the end of the night was and has been the best tasting curry I've tried and am still unable to replicate. This looks very close and shall be attempting tomorrow night 😊. The job at the restaurant got me into this food and loved it ever since.
Same here. Worked over at my friend’s restaurant over Christmas and fell in love with cooking! You’d have had what we called the ‘staff curry’ and it would’ve been very similar to what Latif has just showcased.
what u had my friend is proper home cooked curry. those types of curry takes about 40 mins to cook and isn't practical for bussiness as people want quick food. but nothing on any bangladeshi/indian curry menu would taste as good. if u keep cooking the curry the same one over and over u will master it. do it exactly how the chef shows it here.
Have been making authentic style curries for some time now based on surching staff curries, lol. Me and my boy like the authentic style curry I make, but I made your curry tonight. Tho be it, it didn't look exactly like yours, but the process of cooking and, more importantly, less is a whole lot more. Same spices, just a bit less of it and fully caramelising them onions, made a fantastic curry. Learnt a lot from this one, Latif.
Finally received my spice order so that could make a batch of panch phoron. This recipe is sooooooooo good, I made it twice in a row, doubling the second batch so that I'd have leftovers! All I can say is thank you yet again for sharing and God bless.
Merry Christmas, I am going to cook this for 10 people on Sunday, last curry for the year. Thanks for all the amazing stunning dishes this year, I have learnt so much thank you.
I don't think that I've ever cooked a curry without using tomatoes, cream, coconut milk or yogurt before! Looking forward to cooking & tasting this one. Thanks!
love it 😅 as always ...you never disappoint with ur recipes. The ghee adds more flavour and makes chicken taste better 😊 making this tomorrow in sha Allah 😊
Beautiful. A friend cooked a version with baby potatoes. And a thin golden sauce. That was great too.You will have had it. Great vlog. Keep them coming.👍
Particularly like the traditional home-style cooking. But of course, also like your BIR recipes. Keep up the good work. Happy holidays. Hoping 2025 will be the year of the pilgrimage to Alsager!
by doing beef and now chicken your bringing balance to the force ... :D, also, had some digestive issues, made a beef keema with mushrooms with lots of organic south asian whole spices : cassia, Panch Phoron, cloves, cardamon, bay+curry leaves, methi, corriander and lots of org powdered spices too. Its really helped Im amazed ! I find its only the organic ones that really do the trick. let thy food be thy medicine.
Kashmiri chillies have a fantastic flavour. All cooks unanimously tell the viewer that they are a mild chilli but good for colour. It's the flavour that counts and Kashmiri is the best for Indian cooking.
@@LatifsInspired yes definitely this will be getting made over crimbo as I can eat it as you use butter ghee thanks for sharing you recipes and travels lad
I love the dish you made but the plate was more interesting to me I bought a dinner set for my mother in-law in 1967 with the same rose pattern for Christmas some memories you never forget hopeyou have a merry Christmas and a wonderful New year looking forward to some new recipes in 2025
I have been admiring the plate too,my mum had the same and for some reason i ended up giving it to charity.ever since I have been looking for something like it.guilt os hard to over come
Legend of a chef. I make your curries all of the time to such a level that my Asian mates say that they are restaurant quality . Any chance of doing keema madras?
I love your recipes and your videos make it so much easier to make curry properly. Is there any chance you could post more veggie dishes please. Thank you and have a lovely Christmas.
@ looking forward to it pal years to be honest lol we are more than happy with your knowledge now! I have made some amazing curry’s ect of yours thank you 🙏
Hi, Latif. Did I notice a hint of trepidation when you were talking about mum's wooden spoon? I only ask because, my mum purchased one when I was about ten...
Why not show how you ate the meal at home, with rice etc.....Do you usually eat with your hands at home? Don't be shy... It always tastes better that way, served with fresh green chillies, onion / spring onions and a simple veg. Dish e.g. fried bindi (ladies fingers/okra) or beygun ( aubergine)... Yum 😋
While many spices are commonly associated with Indian cuisine, several spices like cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and chili peppers did not originate in India and were brought in through trade routes, making them not native to the region; instead, their origins lie in places like Indonesia, South America, and the Caribbean. Don't give viewers wrong information.

So simple and yet so effective! Looking forward to doing this one but it will have to wait until after Christmas has been and gone!
Have fun!

@ it’s one of my favourite curries. Give it a go…
We grow chillis in the greenhouse and dry them out for cooking later on, is it better to freeze them for cooking curries?
I personally like it frozen
Thank you .
You are welcome!
Love your recipes could you make a gorkhali lamb chops plz x
I’ll look into that. Thank you for the suggestions
My favourite was homecooked Chicken bhuna....
Yes lovely

Hi Latif.
I was just wondering what word you always say just before you start cooking and what is its significance.
Thanks, love your all you videos.
Bismillah ? In the name of allah (god)
Thank you for replying on behalf of me…
“In the name of Allah (God)”, just asking God for a blessing before cooking.
Salam bhai can you do a jeera chicken please
Wa alaikum assalam wa Rahmatullah. Yes maybe soon…
Hi Chef, if i hv 2kg of chicken, i shoud double the ingredients right? Tq!

Aha...we meet again
Yey…
Hi, Latif. Did I notice a hint of trepidation when you were talking about mum's wooden spoon? I only ask because, my mum purchased one when I was about ten...
In some bengali households the wooden spoon was used to discipline kids
lol 😂
It’s let’s say brings memories

Yes. I get exhausted after filming so by the time I eat I’m tired… maybe next time I get a chance…
Looks good. I'm pretty sure every mum has one of them wooden spoons that is 30+ years old lol
lol!
1 min in and I'm screaming bismillah!! You forgot..
I did say…
Accacia Cinnamon is not from Sri Lanka.
Normally the cassia bark is from Sri Lanka. But you learn something new everyday
Eat with your hand for proper authenticity
I know. It’s difficult cooking, eating and filming. I normally rest after filming and eat later.
Not keen on the speeded up filming, please go back and let us enjoy your cooking at speeds where we can take it all in simply.
Yes. Thought everyone is doing it so I might. But old is gold…
This is why I say Jamaican curry is not it, they don’t season properly
Try this curry…
