  • For more than two decades, Vermont-based photographer Jim Westphalen has documented old farmhouses, barns, churches and homes that have fallen into disrepair - he calls it “finding beauty in decay.” His works are collected in a book and film, both titled “Vanish: Disappearing Icons of a Rural America.” This is his Brief But Spectacular take on the vanishing structures of rural America.

I can relate to your love of old structures, Jim, and really appreciate your use of light to help accentuate them. As an artist myself, I'm constantly looking for interest in otherwise overlooked buildings whether they be barns, houses or even sheds. Keep up the beautiful work!
