I truly enjoyed your reactions!!!! 🤗 This was my favorite episode, too, and I give major respect to *Cam Squires and Gia King who wrote it.* Jennifer is my favorite of the witches because her growth is on full blast this episode. Think back to episode 3 when the oven door opens and she literally SHOVES Lilia out of the way so she can escape first! Then in episode 5, when Agatha is possessed and is attacking Billy, it is Jennifer who gets her attention so that she stops, which then causes Agatha to attack Jenn. Growth! NOW, in this episode, when the Iron Maiden opens, and Agatha and Billy walk out, Jennifer says to Lilia, *"I'm not going before You!"* 🥲🥲🥲 Such beautiful growth!! I am really looking forward to your reactions to the next two episodes!
THIS is my favorite episode!!! The writing alone is insane, but Patti's acting is just *chef's kiss! Imagine having to weave all that in to every earlier episode and have it all make sense here. Absolutely incredible on everyone's part!
His character development throughout the series was so good. He starts off as this witchcraft fanboy always coming to Agatha’s defense. Alice’s death flipped the switch with how he views Agatha, and to tap into his strength. Joe did such a great job playing the goofy teen as well as burgeoning superhero. Btw, Agatha is the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz (the book the Wonderful Wizard of Oz), not Elphaba from Wicked. Although kind of based on the same characters, they are different books by different authors.

In tarot the Death card doesn't mean you will die or something. But instead it indicates big changes and a new beginning. And at the end, this didn't mean death for Lilia since there was a new beginning for her. My favorite episode of this show, hands down.
OK, ok... I've upped my insulin to cope with how freaking sweet you two are (individually and especially with each other). Oh, and I agree, we need more Patti in EVERYTHING Fun fact time! In the "making of AAA" videos they show how this set was constructed and used. The swords are REAL, hung individually from the ceiling by hidden piano wire and with remote controlled release mechanisms. The actors were VERY carefully rehearsed and blocking established to make sure that no one was ever closer than 5 feet away from a falling sword. Also, the swords that fall are all different, and are copies (aka "homages to") famous swords from various fantasy movies. There's Conan's two-handed sword, a Glamdring, as well as at least two different movie Excaliburs!) The ceiling was built so they could actually lower it. Well, technically it was built with a two-part counterweight system so that the "default" setting was "all the way up". By using a cranking device they could lower one set of weights, which "pulled" the ceiling downwards. It was designed so that if anything broke, the ceiling would fall UP (away from our precious Patti and Joe) The set designers said this, and the "swimming pool disguised as a kitchen" from episode 3 were their proudest achievements. The cast said that this set was the one that freaked them out the most, because by about day 3 of shooting on it they forgot it was a set entirely and just got a shock every time they left. Also, Joe said the sound of the swords faintly clanging on their wires was like the sounds of boats in a harbor and he sometimes napped in full Maleficent during resets. (ah... island boys!)
Did you guys notice thru the entire series, Jen pushed everyone out of the way to get out of the Trials but in this one, she didn't want to go before Lilia?
Oh, and the other inspirations were the movie Arrival and like, Mike Flanagan's Netflix shows. This was such a beautiful episode, it is kind of the end of this part of the story. I know you guys are done, but I hope you didn't leave too much time between 8 and 9, they released then as one.
