Congrats on the successful swap! Good Job. Can't wait to see all the upgrade episodes. And YES...practicing the governor removal on the 196 is totally the smart move. If you get it done without damage, you still have a back-up motor for testing on before risking the Tillitson.
It's been fun doing 43 with straight chain, 60 tooth, but I miss the trail riding power of the jackshaft. Today I'm going to try to reinstall the jackshaft with a 44 tooth rear sprocket. (Mt RT200 stock one was 50 t) Hurray, I can't wait to break/reattach all those links...
Cool videos! I have two Coleman’s but no mods yet. See if you can find ethanol free gas. I use that in all my outdoor equipment. Saves you problems. What is that little bike in the corner of the garage?
@@tinkeringwithwhit297 how did the 10 tooth work out with the 60 tooth sprocket? I have a ct200u-ex with a 224 predator straight chain 10 tooth 50 tooth sprocket I wanna which to 60 tooth because it makes my clutch hot real fast
@@burtonexoticbullies.2313 I got some smoke with the 60 tooth as well and that was a brand new clutch, I think with a little high temp grease in the right places the problem would go away. But I would definitely keep the 60 it just pull hills better.
Wow I just upgraded to a Tillotson also. Had the same hison with stage 1. I took the stage 1 parts I got from GPS off the hison and put them on the Tillotson and everything worked great. Now you have me influenced into going straight chain, except I dont want to lose all that low end torque. I wonder what a happy medium is on rear sprockes to get both.
With the stock jackshaft, I was 26 mph at 4800 rpm (I put a tach on) and used an app for MPH. I have tons of torque, but pretty slow for that many RPMs. Would like something in the middle. How do you like the torque of that new motor?
I can't say I haven't thought about robbing my 196 for parts as well, honestly torque wise it felt bout the same but I'm sure with the governor deleted it would feel a whole lot different
@@julianbailey9934 get a torque unit you will be amazed with it and that's with both top speed and more torque for climbing it's amazing I've got it on my Coleman ct200u with a predator 212cc motor
Doing engines swaps are pretty easy and simple on these bikes as long as you got the right parts

It's an old 49cc pocket dirt bike
Why you didn't take the coils out and put them in the new motor so you can run lights
Had to do a stock run first

Get a torque unit it will increase your top end and give you more in the lower end for climb power

Great video, very informative.
Excellence thank you
What size chain ?
420
I thought the Tillotsons were governed to over 5K RPM? Getting only 35 makes it seem like it was a regular governed engine running less than 4K RPM.
I was a little disappointed with 35 as well, but it is stock
