- We're finally back from Japan and we spent way more than we probably should've haha. We went to multiple Pokemon Centers, Nintendo Stores, Japanese Video Game Shops, Japanese Card Shops, Japanese Second Hand Stores, and more! Check out everything that I bought while I was in Japan!

What a great haul!!! Super jelly on all the pokemon games but glad you were able to build up a good collection. I want to visit Japan and do some exploring of the major cities, but also drag my gf through every pokemon related thing I can find LOL

Nearly had a heart attack when you mentioned the word "Platinum". I am a HUGE LOVER of the fourth Gen games. Absolutely adored Platinum. It was a special game to me. I'm not going to mention Platinum, but SOME of those games MUST be utilized for Shiny hunting, or I will be offended. I must encourage you to play XD. That's up to you, but it's an amazing game. Won't press the XD game any farther. At least think about it. Most of this was posted before the video even ended. I would ask for a single Japanese card, even if it's a God-awful common card. I love Japan's back card art. I don't know what it is...
Japanese cards just hit different . And I definitely plan on doing some hunts in Gen 4
@@CalmAndCollecting Either Gen 3 or 4 would be sufficient, before S/V, Platinum was my absolute favorite game.

Honestly it was pretty tough to find good deals, but check out Hardoffs and other second hand shops. Some of my best finds were a ways outside of Tokyo.
Got 5 pokemon games not in the box off eBay for 98 and lowkey that was a deal in of itself but this is something else. Can’t wait to eventually go to Japan and get more stuff

Where in Japan did you get these? I'm trying to do research before going, but my search engine thinks l mean cards. ¥1000-3000 is absolutely unheard of in my country. The least l find them for are $20-40, and some of those are repros. I just saw a loose Pearl for like $50 at my local retro game store today, which is way too much.
Honestly I got them all over the place. Prices on Japanese games in general are wayyy more reasonable almost anywhere you go. The only place I'd avoid buying at is Akihabara since you're getting the foreigner tax over there haha. Besides that though, almost any used game shop will have great deals. Surugaya, Bookoff, Hardoff, etc. all had great prices and there are tons more one off shops you'll find similar deals at!
Sorry, could I just check how much you paid for Gale of Darkness? I'm also interested in picking up some Gamecube controllers, where did you think the best place for that was? I'm very jealous of your Club Nintendo controller!! And which Nintendo store would you recommend for choice of items? Looking forward to more of your videos of your time in Japan!
Looking at the prices I had for these it was actually 3850 yen for XD and 2500 for Colosseum. As far as Gamecube controllers go, I didn't really see any regular ones around, just the more expensive cooler ones unfortunately. For Nintendo Stores, I'd just say whatever one is close to where you'll be, they all pretty much had the same stuff. The Kyoto one has a cool photo op spot and the queue system so you won't be shoulder to shoulder with folks, but you'll want to get there a bit earlier to get your ticket, then walk around and check out some other spots while you wait.

@@CalmAndCollecting Thanks for the pricing. I was wondering how much I should drop on XD, given the pricing in the US. As for which Nintendo store...I'll actually be going to Kyoto, Osaka AND Tokyo so wasn't sure which was best but I think I'll just see where we have the most time to fit it in. That's interesting about Gamecube controllers. I guess if I'm going to get one, it may aswell be a special edition! Thanks for taking the time to reply. :)

If you ever wanna remove stickers use a blow dryer and heat up the sticker.

Anything on the 3ds IS region locked! While the DS/GBA era are NOT region locked. You can also play a japanese DS game on a non-Japanese 3ds. Installing homebrew to bypass the region lock is not hard. @@rogeliogonzalezjr7066
