Of course now they offer the rift version free to Questers when I bought the Rift version long before buying the Quest version also. Beat Saber has gotten me so good. I wouldn't be surprised to find out I've spent $1000 on that game. I bought it and most of it's DLC on PSVR 1, Then bought the game again on steam AND RIFT. Then Quest copies, including DLC's and extra copies to play multiplayer together.. they got me GOOD!
Price probably isn't a thing that prevents people from buying. Rigjt now, the Vision Pro is extremely expensive, but the price will come down until it's closer to double the competition price or less. There are cheap, good android phones but people still choose the more expensive iPhones because of the software integration and brand recognition.
v65 killed my Pro controllers (they basically work on a d20 critting roll and I don't care rebooting the headset and the controllers a gajillion time until that happens), anything past 72Hz in conjunction with the Pros (at least I got 90Hz back when failing back to the Standard controllers) and the Screenshot combo (Oculus + Trigger). We already lost Space Sense completely when Quest 3 launched and they basically killed the Stationary Guardian a good while before that by making it "wireframe boudary-less", making it completely useless for tight spaces which is what I used it in. Not a fan of feature removal. Please just stop pulling a Google, Medduh! Edit: Forgot about the MR recording thing which never came to Android. It was removed for iOS at some point instead, somewhere around v60 IIRC.
It's strange, if you bought Beat Saber for your Quest 1, and suddenly you can't use something anymore that you've paid for. I understand that they can't keep developing software that can be used on all 4 headsets, but they could just make a seperate legacy update specifically for the Quest 1 so people can use what they actually paid for.

Then once I saw the Oculus DK1 in videos I knew thats what I was looking for. Just had to wait several more years for consumer vr to launch and become affordable and that was why I pre ordered the psvr 1 the first day you could
Sad about Batman, but by the time that comes out (and if the Quest 3 lite or whatever is out by then), I may be able to upgrade. Of course, I'll need to get some more prescription lenses. I own a pcvr headset quest 2 was a second thought exclusive games won't make me purchase Quest 3 like exclusive psvr2 won't make me buy a ps5 I enjoy pcvr more cause I can attach a steering wheel or a hotas and base station tracking is still the best and nothing standalone can compare to pc graphics or vr mods
It makes sense that Quest 3 lite should soon replace the position of Quest 2 in the Oculus device lineup. It just kind of sucks they didn't get it out sooner to include more people in the Quest 3 software ecosystem.
My BOBOVR G3 grips are supposed to arrive today. I received an email this morning saying that I can either wait for the new fixed version to come out at no cost, or get reimbursed. I emailed back right awat saying it's OK, I'll wait for the updated version.
I still have my Rift CV1 to this day and it pisses me off to no end how most games now are exclusive to Quests only. It feels like PCVR is dying. I mean hell, at least with the Rift exclusives, you can still play them with other headsets via ReVive. But since a Quest emulator doesn't exist, nor ever will, you're sore out of luck if you're not a Quest owner.
Great video, tbh I didn't know a lot of the facts and I'm so happy I do now. The Quest 1 will be missed when it eventually does fade out of obscurity but it is most definitely a pioneer of the Standalone community.

There's no way the Razer accessories are worth that price 😂 that being said I'm intrigued as I'm one of the weird fans of straps I can easily lay my head back. And given that no facial interface has satisfied me yet I'm itching at giving it a try. Looking forward to the review!
I do not have money i really want to play ac mexus on quest 2. For under 300 i think im going to buy it. Maybe next year on black friday i will get something better
Gotta say I'm not that impressed with bobo this time round. Bought the S3, and the quality control must be lacking. The wheel to loosen and tighten is already breaking. Never had this issue with the old bobo.
Porn games is what has got me back into VR. Hahah. I bought the Quest 1 on release. Had fun with it for a little while. After the WOW factor wore off. It was very uncomfortable. The screen door and low refresh rate was less than desirable. It started to lose the wow factor pretty quickly. I skipped the Quest two. The Quest three has be very good so far. I got the Adicop Battery Head Strap and some prescription lenses from Zenni and RELOPTIX. The Quest three is a very good stand-alone VR and paired with my i7 13700K/4070ti build it is even better. I have never had PC VR. The Quest 1 and Quest 3 are the only VR headsets I have ever owned or used. I have about $715 into my Quest 3 (128GB) excluding games. Quest 3 $500, head strap $50, controller grips $30, face cover $17, prescription lenses $50/$80 and games $$$$. Bottom line. The Quest 3 is worth it if you can buy a few creature comforts to go with it. Just my 2 1/2 cents.
When will the Quest 3 lite come out? Will they have pancake lenses or the old Fresnel lenses? I just need a Quest to go with my old Binbok head strap and batteries.
Sory to double comment, but you have to see this. Assassin's creed Nexus VR server was down at May 7 and i angrily asked for refund, 14 hours played. And it immediately got approved. Thumbs up meta, thumbs down ubisoft. I don't want to "own" anything from them.
The two my folks have both haven't been booted in a while so I wonder if they're dead. It does make me sad though because multiplayer with my whole family was a good time and now that just won't be an option.
Same! We keep getting this weird issue where some features go missing when they shouldn't. Like how chromecast disappeared for a bit, people lost multimodal for a while too. These updates sometimes F S up!

You'll still be able to do PCVR with Quest 2. A cheap (at least in Europe) improvement over Quest 2 for PCVR would be the Pico 4 (pancake lenses, albeit worse thant those of the Quest 3), otherwise if you are willing to pay more, wait for Quest 3S, see what it is (my litmus test: if Fresnel lenses, don't buy it (it's a Quest 2 at that point), else do buy it). Quest 3 is a very good value/price headset (if you're considering standalone as well, this would be my choice). Finally, the Pimax Crystal Light ought to be one of the best quality/price options below $1k.

I bought the quest 3 and god damn it is leaps ahead of my old Oculus Rift S. Best thing is no pc cord or sensor setup.
Gave my quest 1 to my gf she doesn't play much anymore but we bought her beatsaber on steam for future possible compatibility

I can't see Apple ever competing with the Quest platform. They're always far too prohibitively expensive.
To be fair, Mac users emulate Windows to play games. This means that the data on Mac gamers is skewed towards Windows.

The 120hz feature is missing after i installed v65

if you get a 3d printed Adapter for the Quest 3 Head Strap's you can use the quest 2 razer strap for way cheaper

The razer facial interface is awful. The reduced FOV makes it unusable for me and I'm returning it.

Glad Razer is making the facial interface for the Q3. Most comfortable on the Q2 in my opinion though a bit pricey.
