Gators are NOT slow and lazy. They move like lightning when they are hunting. Which is why standing at the water's edge for a sunset/sunrise selfie is a dangerous idea in Florida.
Run might not be the right word. They are a "quick strike" killer. Surprise is their weapon. They have a good sprint in them, but they don't really have distance.
Alligators can reach up to 35mph in just a few seconds but can't run for any real distance. Mainly just around 20ft. They are quick strike, sneaky, very well camouflaged in the water, and stubborn.
The scariest thing about a Mountain Lion (cougar), is seeing its fresh tracks. You know it's nearby, yet you can't see it, but you know it can see YOU!
Or how about when you are walking in the foothills and one is stalking you for miles while you are hiking/walking. Happened to me several times, I always hike with my 45 on me and bear spray.
As a native Arizonan, I can confirm that scorpions DO in fact make their way into our houses. One time I was woken up from being stung multiple times on my back by a scorpion that was IN MY BED! Arizona has plenty of dangerous wildlife, including; rattlesnakes, javelinas (wild boar), brown recluse spiders, coyotes, Gila monsters, and mountain lions (although most of these animals won't attack unless provoked.)
In California visiting my dad in Arizona, I was so scared of scorpions as a child I've still never seen 1 in person. We have our own scary things here too.
i lived in Tuscon a bit and those spiders are more of an issue than the other animals, they want to bite. I thought the scorpions were cool, let me hold it to look and release. I'm in Nebraska and we have issues with rattle snakes and coyotes too. snakes really are a silent danger because by the time you hear that rattle its gonna be too late. coyotes were domesticated by the Native tribes and don't really do humans harm unless provoked or starving, they are opportunists
Oklahoman here, I have woken up bring stung by a scorpion once, and woken up to a brown racer snake wrapped around my ankle one fall. Safe to say I flipped the #$%& out when I realized what it was, until I realized what species it was, then I let it hang out in the sleeve of my hoodie, wrapped around my wrist lol
Great video. American here, born and raised in Kentucky. We have a little nugget of joy that lives in the woods named a Wildcat. They typically stay to themselves but if you have the misfortune of running across a female with kittens and she gets scared, then you get to have your ass whipped by a 35 pound cat with razor sharp claws. Running works, running fast works best... lol.
They left quite a few animals out. A Bull Shark is more likely to get you than a Great White. They have caught Bull Sharks in the Mississippi River as far north as Illinois.
Alligators aren't lazy. They are ambush predators so they wait until you get close. They are quite fast even out of the water. Sharks don't 'chew'. The bite off chunks of meat and swallow the whole chunk.
Even more terrifying is how effective they are at it...they have patience of steel, they will wait until you are within inches of them almost even touching, you will not get away like the people in these clips
Bison is excellent! Especially the prime rib. Buffalo wings are named after Buffalo, NY. Bison are called buffalo, but they're not actually related to water buffalo.
@@onesunnyday5699 Hot sauces like Tobasco and Frank's, Crystal, etc. are made from chilies, salt and vinegar. The original Buffalo wing sauce from the Anchor Bar in Buffalo is just 2 ingredients... butter and Frank's Red Hot Sauce.
As someone who survived Rocky mountain spotted fever with 10 days in the hospital and 5 months to fully recover I would suggest taking prevention against ticks
Lyme Disease is no fun either. My niece was sick for years. She was a kid, wasn't hospitalized, it was a long drawn out illness. Hope you're better now.
I feel like ticks should have made it onto this list. Bc of how sick you can get to after getting bit. Also they are more prolific than any of these animals. Unlike bears, black widows, and the like ticks can be found even in the rural places of America. You have to be close to those animals’ habitats to see them, but ticks could be found in a park if it is a certain part of the country like New Hampshire.
@thebibliobibuli6395 it took about a week after I got bit ( I never found the tick ) for the symptoms to start and it was brutal by the time I was admitted to the hospital my liver was shutting down I was dehydrated and rapidly losing weight because everything including water I threw up I had a high temperature, they did all kinds of tests I had IVs in both arms and just kinda in a daze for about the first 5 days in the hospital they kept me 5 more days to make sure all my organs were still good and I gained a little weight, I was 21 at the time in peak shape and it took about 6 months to fully recover and everything has been good for the 43 years since
@@thebibliobibuli6395Not really, black widows are far more common then you think. I used to work for a Vineyard company, my job was basically installing irrigations and would see them multiple times in a day creeping out of pipes as for some reason they enjoy dark humid areas. The same goes for houses, they creep their way in on cold places and could be very dangerous for toddlers. As for ticks, they are only a problem when there is a house pet as long as the pet is tended to properly and kept outside of the house it would be no problem. Black widows on the other hand, don't give a damnn, if your house is clean or not, it don't matter
The Brown Recluse is terrifying… i live in the mountains of Northern UT. We have Brown Recluse and Black Widows- as well as Moose, Mountain Lion, Black Bear, Elk, Mule Deer, etc etc
Scorpions end up everywhere lol. I live in the AZ Dessert. The Cougar is commonly called 'Mountain Lions 'here also lol.... lol, btw. Yogi Bear from Jellystone park😁
I grew up in the northern mountains of the state of Utah. We actually have most of these there. I have had scorpions in my shoes, had a cougar that would frequent our back yard weekly, had a black bear come in our tent at night, been chased by a bull moose, watched a moose ram a semi truck and walk away, got rattlesnakes all over the foothills of the mountains, lynx, badgers, a few rare sightings of wolverines. When you live around it, you generally learn to respect it and learn how to handle situations. Loved seeing your reactions!
I live in Arizona in the city of Phoenix and we have tons of scorpions, we just break out the black light , look for the glow . They do a great job eating nuisance bugs and they eat each other. I don't mind them lol
@@bradywilliams5195 LMAO not trying to shame here I promise, but how old are you and where do you live? Also, what would have been your previous guess as to why they are called Buffalo Wings?
@@tommygilbreath Replying in the same manner I promise; not everyone grows up with the same foods.... I grew up in a very Polish culture as my parents were WWII Refugees from Poland who came to the US in 1951...I did not really realize till I was a bit older that there was a difference between what my mom thought of as pancakes; (a variation on crepes); and what most of the US thought of as pancakes; (buttermilk flapjacks)... Also my mom's idea of "fried chicken" is nothing like what most US people think of as "fried chicken". My mom would actually boil a chicken first to get a good base for a chicken broth she would later use for soups. but then she would remove the breast meat off the bones and dip it into a series of flour, eggs and bread crumbs and then she would fry it in butter....THAT was my mom's fried chicken...Oh and her dumplings for soup were made out of Cream of Wheat as the main ingredient... (Something I still have yet to master).... 😁
@@teresavandal4973 Wow that's a super interesting history you have! TBH And your Mom's food sounds really good :) The person I was replying to said they were American though so it just seemed odd they wouldn't know the Buffalo Wings thing since you can't walk 2 Blocks in this Country without running into a food spot that sells them.
@@tommygilbreathyou answered your own question.... Doesn't matter what street in whichever state you are..... Every where sells buffalo sauce or wings.
The rhyme we learned to tell a coral snake (venomous) and an also very common King snake (harmless) is this: Red touch black, friend to Jack. Red touch yellow, kills a fellow. Look up each snake to see how close alike they look.
It's their loyalty & desire to please their owners that makes them susceptible to being turned into a killer 😢. Raised & trained properly, they are big babies. I've had Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Pit Bulls & all of them were bigger babies that the Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix we had. Bruce was a true menace 😂
@@onesunnyday5699 I adopted a Staffy, he was a wonderful pooch! Passed away a few years ago from congestive heart failure. I also had a Rottie for a few years, he was my late father's dog who I adopted when Dad passed away. Both were great dogs, very gentle!
So I am a person who doesn't do social media and I just came across your RUclips and I love your mom. I want to say thank you cuz I was feeling sad, and watching your videos made me laugh and and help ease my sadness.. so on that note thank you
What I've realized watching this, is how amazing the wildlife in America is and how often we forget about it. Seeing people from abroad learning about the things we take for granted is extremely cool. I'm from Michigan and we have bears, bobcats, cougars, wolverines, (not sure if still in the wild or not) moose up north. Too many to name. Cheers!
Mum is HILARIOUS!!! Her saying she wanted to take the cougar home reminded me of my own mom (in Goergia) feeding this "weird looking cat". Come to find out, she was feeding a bobcat (North American Lynx) because it "looked hungry". 😮😬🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It must not have made much noise around her… do a search for bobcat vocalizations-they are _terrifying_! It’s funny that mountain lions can sound like babies, but bobcats can sound like saber-toothed tigers.
@ 😬A simple google search would show you that they are two different animals. They are not the same. As someone that has studied animals & was becoming a zoologist, I would know more than a simpleton like yourself. But nice try though.🙄🫠
We lived in Georgia for a few years. My 1st encounter with a scorpion: went for a paper towel, roll sitting on it's end. Lifted the paper towel roll, and there was a scorpion sitting there right in the middle hole! Also in Georgia, was cleaning our bird bath, lifted the bowel part and there was a black widow underneath. I put the bowl back and left her alone! Regarding gators, there are always stories of family pets and children becoming victims of them... there was an elderly woman a few months ago.
5:21 LOL You are hilarious, buffalo wings are chicken wings or if they're boneless buffalo wings they are breast pieces. Where the "Buffalo" comes from, it is a sauce that was invented in Buffalo New York, buffalo sauce is a spicy vinegar sauce, that is put on the wings and thus makes them "buffalo wings"
They can actually do short bursts of up to 35 miles per hour, useful for ambush hunting coming out of the water.. The fastest human run ever recorded was just under 28 miles per hour. They've got the best of us outpaced by 7 mph.
Yeah but they usually don't mess with anything large. The young elderly and pets are at most risk. Hogs can be deadly af. Alligator's also have a powerful tail, and sharp claws. Got them in every state in the east Virginia and below. I live in Georgia we got plenty. Even got a alligator park Okeefenokee.
LEW: to clarify... cartoon bears of the 1950s/1960s were starring characters Yogi and friend Booboo; their home was called Jellystone Park, a spoof on the real Yellowstone Park. Bison, aka buffalo are actual massively large animals that are eaten for tneir meat but mostly managed due to overkill to near extinction. Buffalo wings are marketed smacks derived from actual chicken wings with spices and credited of being started in the location of Buffalo New York.
Her shock and dismay are hilarious when she discovers you haven’t heard of things like Yogi Bear or Cheers sitcom. It’s like she’s contemplating her child rearing failures. 😅
We have TONS of cougars. Especially in Montana in the western states. When I bought a house in North Carolina there is a lake I can see from my house. The 1st day I moved in, I saw about a 6' gator 100ydd from my new home. Bison used to be in every state. Now they're making a comeback thanks to conservation. They were almost totally eradicated in the 1880s. We have crazy scary animals in the US
They say cougars/mountain lions, have been ran out of NC. So many move here to military towns in NC and don't realize we have alligators and many other animals and bugs. NC has mountains, coastal and swamps.
@@19MichaelDixonI was reading about that recently-apparently, even when cougars don’t “live” in a state (meaning they don’t breed there), they regularly pass through other states. I guess it happens mostly when young cougars head out to find their own territories. So, it’s definitely possible!
Buffalo Wings first originated in BUFFALO, New York which is how they got the name Buffalo Wings! Of course these are Chicken Wings and in no way related to Bison/Buffalos! Lewis, you look just like your Mum and she looks as if she could be your Sister! I really like her. Bring her back. She already has a Fan Base who would Love to see more of her. As far as the dangerous animals and/or spiders, snakes, etc; there are some that are more common to peoples homes/towns if the people have chosen to live in these more wooded, secluded areas but others that are common in less populated states and Most people who reside or visit these places are aware of the possible threat they represent and will be very cautious and aware of their surroundings. Then there are those people who foolishly attempt to get too close or to entice these Wild Animals without thinking. Unfortunately! But in the case of say, wild Cougars, their lands have been so encroached upon by housing developments and roads for the convenience of man that they often wander onto property that was once part of their wilderness domain, with no fault of their own, and that is when, where and how tragedy can take place just by the mere presence of humans where there were none previously. Can't blame these wild animals for doing what wild animals do; such as defending their territory, looking for food, raising their young, only to be interfered with by some human who thinks because he's built a home there he maintains dominance there. It's just silly and selfish to think that way. Give these animals some space to roam and be free and steer clear of their known hunting grounds if you know what's good for you. Anyway, being educated about the area you live, take precautions and always Be Aware!!
@@EdwardJones-w3g Same here. I stopped one of them last night here in CA and asked them 'where are you headed next?' She said 'Back to New York' - My response was 'make sure your arms land in BBQ sauce."
Scorpions can be anywhere. My sister-in-law was bit by a scorpion when she slipped her slippers on in the morning and she lived in San Diego, California. Buffalo wings are buffalo seasoned chicken wings. In Southern California we see, bears, coyotes, mountain lions, scorpions, black widows, brown recluse, rattlesnakes, and of course sharks along the coast. Yes, yes, yes, bring mum back!
I love it when Mom is in the videos!! It’s great to see her again. Black Widow’s typically hide out in dark, dry places. I live in AZ and have to check for spiders or scorpions before getting anything out of the garage or storage. Cougar’s scream sounds just like a woman screaming… it’s eerie
Floridian here, my friends from wisconsin came and visited a few years ago and neither of them had seen a gator or a beach. They were amazed by both but couldnt comprehend how dangerous a gator can be, a 3-4 foot gator can take your arm or legs off in the water. However the biggest enemy in florida or the rampant insects like wasps, ants, and mosquitos. Safety tip if you do visit, every body of water has something in it that can hurt or kill you in or near it.
@ they told me themselves they didnt believe the beaches on the great lakes were true beaches. They were amazed by how soft the sand was and how it squeaked under your feet as your walk barefoot
Lewis we all can see where you get your sense of humor from 😊 Your Mum is hilarious and the videos with you two together are so fun! ....of course we want more reactions with her 💁🏻♀
I live in Oregon and several years ago we had a cougar on campus on the first day of school. Imagine 500 elementary kids told they don't get recess on the first day
24:27 It's so sad that pit bulls are used in such a way that causes them to be euthanized. So many of them are just good sweet dogs that want to love everybody around them! It's the owners that make them monsters. The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, you know. If you nurture something a certain way it's going to come out that way.😊
No, I've heard many stories, "it was the family dog, always so sweet", until it kills the toddler or bites the owners throat. Happened to a young mom a year ago about 40 minutes from me. Went after the kid, mom intervened, dad came home to find the dog attacking his wife. She died a few days later in the hospital. There is something not right with these dogs.
I live in (and love) Oregon. Either regularly or seasonally, there are interactions on our property with cougars, foxes, coyotes, black widows, black bears, scorpions, and rattle snakes. We are ALWAYS aware of our surroundings and prepared to deal with true threats accordingly. For the most part, we make our human presence known and fence in livestock (and trash) with secure enclosures. Lastly, we have 2 trained farm dogs who take their jobs seriously and have scared off more than a few bears, foxes, coyotes, and even a cougar. Love them dogs!
Anita I live in ore too thought scorpions were only found in eastern Oregon? I've never seen them in western ore! When I lived in Tucson I encountered scorpions!
I was born in Oregon and lived here most of my life, I remember my surprise when I found a dead scorpion on the Collawash River, there is a spot near the road with large smooth rocks, we pulled over to jump in the river and swim to the other side, the river was fresh snow melt, VERY cold, beautiful crystal clear water, you could clearly see the bottom (25-35ft deep) we would swim to the other side (maybe 12-20ft wide) and lay on the sun baked rocks to dry before swimming back, then jump back in the 86 Toyota 4runner and drive home wet lol, Baker City in the 90's was a great childhood experience! I could go anywhere on my bike, as long as I was home before the street lights came on mom and dad didn't care, I wish I could go back.
Your mum is amazing, you two have the same infectious positive energy. To answer your question on how we sleep at night, many of us are armed, especially the more rural you get. Love the video
I agree with you about dogs. Many dogs are given bad reputations and it is all due to owner training. If you have a dog that attcks, in some states owners are held responsible. But the poor dogs are still put down. It is so sad that people are that cruel to train their dogs to attack.
I am from Montana (Big Sky country) and yes there are bison and they are common so is the grizzly bear. Both animals are massive and can be deadly. Big problem is many tourists think that the Yellowstone park is a petting zoo. Petting and approaching is not advisable.
we still have bison in Nebraska and Colorado too. nice to know they are booming, once almost extinct. I'm Nebraskan and this used to be their native habitat, the plains are so farmed out no room to roam anymore
Even a baby bison can kick a person's ass. I had the privilege of bottle feeding a rejected baby bison. She was fairly controllable for the first couple of days, but after a week she was able to throw me, a 6'1" 235lb 18 year old that benched 300 as my average set.
I used to have a 4-poster bed. It was really high, so my nightstand was also tall. One night, I leaned over toward my nightstand and caught a glimpse of a black spider in the corner behind the leg. I got down to see and it was a black widow. I actually left it there for a while - a couple of weeks - because I know they aren't aggressive. But one night, I had a sudden image in my mind of an egg sac. I was suddenly not so passive anymore. Lol
Yes, love the mom, son relationship, neat. My son's would never do this with me, I WOULD EMBARRASS THEM, even at their old age, 23 and 30, I'd embarrass them somehow😮😂. Oh well that's what us parents do, embarrass our kids! LOL
In Salt Lake city, UT, there are fairly frequent sightings of cougars in neighborhoods in or at the base of the mountains. So pet owners have to keep an eye on them and kids when theyre outside. Cougars will also occassionally stalk, approach or attack lone hikers on mountain trails. Moose are also frequently seen in mountain towns/cities and ski resorts. But attacks from them in the local news is pretty rare.
This most common place to get stung by a scorpion is your foot because they like to hide in your shoes. If you're ever in the US in a place that has scorpions make sure to shake your shoes out well before putting them on.
You are right about American pitbull terriers. Our Pittbull, Angel, fit her name. She tried to take care of us when we were sick, protected us from bad people, worked to lift us out of depression, and loved us unconditionally. It's how the owners train them Angel was part of the family until she died and is greatly missed.
The worst part about my brother's pit is when she's sitting at your feet on the couch... she looks into your eyes, you resign yourself to your fate as she launches full force into your face to give you kisses. She's sweet, but not the coolest thing with a 60 pound dog. ;-) (RIP to your pup).
One year on the 4th when I was like 14 me and my friend had some sparklers and we lined them up, stuck them in the dirt and then lit them. My families pitbull was inside watching us. When they lit up she busted the door, ran over and threw herself in between me and the sparklers and laid down on top of them. She would have given her life for me, my mom and dad. All she wanted was to curl up in your lap and be covered by a blanket. She use to sleep with our cat wrapped around her. She was the best dog. I still cry when I think about her and she’s been gone for nearly twenty years. Pitbulls are fantastic dogs, it’s all how they’re trained.
We have scorpions all over the USA and Pumas all over the USA , As well as bears. Alligators are only in the south east where I’m from. We also have coyotes ,wolves ,and Coywolfs which is a mix of wolf and coyote in most states as well. Mostly coyotes in the south. Buffalo are only out west and moose are only up north where it’s cold.
I live in a part of Alaska that gets a TON of Moose traffic. The amount of times I've heard "DON'T let the dog out, there's three moose outside" is hilarious. Generally they will try to avoid you. I remember being a kid and school teaching us what to do if we find ourselves face to face with a moose. Made walking home from the bus stop spooky haha!
I love your mom! I live in the Yosemite National Park area of California. One time I was gold prospecting in the Merced river in the summer when the water was really low. Well, I was bending down using my pan, when I noticed about 15 feet away from me was a mountain lion dragging a deer that was bigger than I was! I stayed still until it passed, and slowly backed up and got into my jeep and got the hell away from there!!🤣 Love Grandma Debbie
You show them Yellowstone when they visit us & I will show them Lake Michigan & The Dunes National Park in Indiana ❤ they need to see both those places if they ever visit us.
Yeah, mountain lions are frequently smart enough to avoid getting into conflict with humans. Unlike, say, Bison, which are almost as dumb as hippos and may decide to charge across a field to attack you just because it's Tuesday.
Good thing it was already distracted! I knew someone who was hiking alone (not too smart) who sat on a cliff watching a group of bighorn below. He said he heard something, looked around, and there was a mountain lion behind him-also watching the bighorn. I wish I could remember how he got out of that, but I do remember he was very lucky he wasn’t as appetizing as the sheep. And you should never hike alone, btw!
Yes, Bully breeds are illegal in the UK. It's bs because those breeds are extremely sweet most of the time, and love to snuggle. Scorpions will absolutely be in your house if you live in an area where they're native - does NOT have to be the desert. We had them in our house in south Texas, and it hurts like a b*tch to be stung. Also fun story - my grandparents live in the Texas hillcountry and as a kid I'd taken a bath and used one of the towels from the cupboard. Felt something crawling on me, and it turned out to be a HUGE red scorpion. That was bad enough, but it was also horrible having my mother rip my towel off in front of all my cousins 😅 Also look up a cougar scream. Imagine hearing that in the middle of the night 🫣 Bears don't attack to eat humans (there are some exceptions, but rare) they'll attack due to being territorial. That's the case with many of those large animals like bears, moose, elk, etc.
I guess to add to the stories about camping and bears - Once went camping in middle school for summer camp and one girl I had to share a tent with had never been outside the city before then and apparently hated how the outdoors smelled (so ridiculous). She absolutely hosed our tent down with one of those victoria's secret body spray perfume things - like enough to give us all headaches. We woke up the next morning to the outside of the tent being slimy and wet and one of the counselors showing us a video he had gotten of a black bear licking our tent. I slept through the whole thing lol
I always love when Mama Lew joins! The black widow spider likes to hide so bites often occur when you're walking through the woods or cleaning out your attic, etc. Regarding the American Pitbull, there are a lot of organizations that take in pitbulls that have been trained poorly and retrain them. There's a prejudice here against them but many people recognize that it's not the breed, but the training that has to be fixed.
When I was growing up My aunt in Vermont Would take a wooden spoon and dish pan with her while she was hanging wash on the line. When a bear showed up, she would beat on the dish pan with the spoon to chase them away
My father got a pit that was used as a 'bait' dog. It was very skittish and growled a lot at first. After several months it was very loving to family members but still avoided strangers or infrequent visitors.
Bison tastes just like beef, but they're way healthier! Buffalo wings are chicken, but the hot sauce that goes on them was invented in Buffalo, New York.
@@Steve-hq4fm I wouldn’t say it tastes just like beef, but to the average person it probably would. Have you ever done a side by side of various cuts from grass fed beef and bison? I got a chance to try that once and I noticed a subtle difference. Even so, if I’d had them a week apart instead of side by side I might not have noticed as much or at all.
You know what I've noticed? When you're with your mom your accent comes out even more 😂 I love it! I'm American from California and moved around to Texas, Arizona and now Oregon. I was a truck driver for 6 years and have been everywhere!

"What do you do you do if you dont have tape?" Well, you probably start by NOT jumping on the alligator 😂😂 And to add to this, even with tape, you would never try and tackle an alligator that is in water. Alligators are extremely proficient swimmers and would buck you off in about a second in water. Not to downplay their murderous efficacy on land though. They are extremely fast, even on land.
1) My pit is a sweetheart. Yes, she can get scary and has to be locked up sometimes, but she loves when we get company. 2) here’s a little thing I learned in school back in the day between a coral snake and king snake: red and yellow, kill a fellow. Red and black, venom lack. 3) A couple of interesting things to look up with moose and deer are antler shedding. When they “outgrow” their antlers, they give their heads a good shake when they are ready and their antlers pop off their heads. Also, after the new ones come in, they have this velvet layer on them. Overtime, the velvet layer comes off and it almost looks like they gored an animal and the animals intestines are all over their antlers. When in reality, it’s just them shedding the velvet layer so you could have the nice smooth antler that we all know and love to come shining through. Both of those things are so interesting to look up. 4) gators are actually very fast. Here’s an interesting thing to look up: I believe it’s in North Carolina: I think there is a park there where they keep alligators and they hibernate for the winter. First time I saw this I almost didn’t believe it. They are literally frozen under the water except for their noses are sticking out. It’s kind of cute. It’s wild, though!
@L3WG I love watching you and your mom together. You both are great! Now I definitely see where you get your sense of humor. As far as the whole thing with Pitbulls, they actually were originally bred to be "nannies" to children. They used to have the nickname 'Nanny dogs.' my fiance and I have known many Pitties over the years. And they are the sweetest, biggest babies you can ever meet. Your mom and you were so right when you said it's the owner not the breed. Hell, we have a Boxer dog and a Cane Corso (possibly mixed with a Belgian Malinois). They are supposed to be very protective of their family. Our Boxer loves everybody and has never met a stranger. Our Cane Corso is still quite skittish (we rescued her off the streets back in July) and is only recently starting to get a little aggressive toward only a few strangers. To most people she is calm and friendly. With us, both of our dogs are the biggest babies, goofy, and sweet as can be. So good on both of you for not believing the bullsh*t about certain breeds. Enjoy your time with your mom. Don't take it for granted. I still have my mom. However, my fiance and I live about 3 hours away from our old town (which is where my mom still lives). Since he works all the time and only have one working vehicle right now, I don't get to see her but maybe once a year. And that's if I'm lucky. I haven't seen my mom in nearly a year. And I don't know when I'll get to go see her next.
If you see a gator. You keep your distance. Lol, I live in Alabama, and they are in all water mass in the south. Gators lay on the banks during the day. Then they go in the water and hunt at night.
Alligators are most active when temperatures are between 82° to 92° F (28° to 33° C). The summer heat is like a natural power-up. Their metabolism speeds up, making them more active. The maximum speed of an alligator can reach up to 35 mph travel speeds on land. Don't think that you are going to out run them, unless it's very cold or they decide to give up and not give chase.
Really enjoyed having your mom on again! She’s very funny. “That cougar (mountain lion) is so cute, you just want to take it home”,😂😂 Nope, not a good idea- an American mountain woman
I saw a crazy video about a guy picking on up by the scruff of its neck like it was a cat, yelling at it the whole time. It was half his size but he was mad it was threatening his kids or his pets and threw it over a fence. There's also pictures floating around of someone's donkey absolutely destroying a mountain lion out West. Do not recomment, 0 out of 10 to "psst, psst, psst." :)
@@wittsullivan8130 OMGOSH, that would have been worth seeing! They tell us to be careful not to disturb or threaten wild animals young, but don’t mess with ours either! That’s where the saying “Mama Bear” comes from. Most mothers (and fathers) go berserk when anyone or anything attempts to harm their babies. (Yes, I said “most”. There’s some parents out there that could care less, sadly). Donkeys do kick like crazy, but the mule can be deadly. Though I do love a good mule. Haha
I am from Texas. We have most of these here. Mountain Lions sound like a baby crying or a person screaming in real life. It's super creepy. Bison steak is delicious. Gator is good. It looks like fish but tastes like chicken. There were Black Bears in my yard a couple of months ago. The only animals I haven't seen is a Grizzly Bear and a Moose in Texas. Pits are big baby's. Out pit is over 100lbs and still climbs in our laps trying to be held.
-The buffalo wings bit while talking about American bison short-circuited my brain, I hate you Buffalo wild wings for that 😂 -Respectfully Mum....Yogi was from JELLYSTONE not Yellowstone 🤣💀 -YAAAS the Eastern Coral Snake! -when it comes to alligators, ask your fellow men the Aussies about what they do if they don't have tape for a crocodile's mouth, they rope that SOB up
My story of scorpions is from a guy talking about his house in Texas. He had been ignoring millipedes in his house until he woke up to find scorpions gobbling them up
Sharks swallow the chunks they get when they take bites. Also, hearing a cougar (mountain lion/puma) cry at night is terrifying. It sounds like a baby crying. And buffalo wings are just chicken wings baked or fried and covered in buffalo sauce.
What makes the alligator slam its mouth shut is an automatic reflex of something touching its tongue. The dummy with the bandanna on his head where it clamped down on the sides of his head was because a drop of sweat dripped onto its tongue while he had his dome in there.
Yes, grizzlies are brown bears but they are larger and more dangerous than black bears. Grizzlies have a large hump on its back between the shoulders. This is a signature mark for the species and it is where large muscles are attached, a demonstration of strength. They will attack humans when very hungry, such as waking up from hibernating, or when preparing to enter hibernation. They fiercely protect their young. These bears are intelligent problem solvers, which increases the danger they present to anyone foolish enough to think they are cuddly pets.
I've lived in Florida my whole life 30 year now. When I used to go fishing you normally see the gators in the water there eyes would be sticking out looking at you. Good to be aware of your surroundings when near water in this state.
I'm in Arizona at an elevation of over 5000 feet. Snow in the winter, and scorpions too. And snakes, centipedes, bears, big cats, and don't forget the elk can get pretty cranky, especially during rut. A man a couple of miles from me was outside enjoying his morning coffee when a bear got ahold of him. The bear dragged him off and was consuming him by the time a neighbor could shoot the bear.
Buffalo wings means the chicken wings have a type of spice on them. We call it buffalo because it is strong. It taste some different in each restaurant that serves them, some can be pretty spicy
First, I love your mom! She’s great! Second, I once came face-to-face with a cougar about a quarter of a mile from my house when I lived out in the country. They are pretty common around here. I live in Washington state. Both bears and cougars are seen fairly often. The cougar I came face-to-face with was about 60 feet from me when it saw me and it hunkered down like it was ready to pounce. But it was sniffing the air and just waiting to see what I was and what I was going to do. I love the woods, I love nature, and I love animals and happen to have a good sense of animal and what they will do. So I stood still and didn’t blink an eye and pretended like I was a tree. I don’t think it fooled the cougar, but I was downwind from it, which means the wind was blowing toward me instead of toward it so it couldn’t smell me. After what seemed like forever, but was actually only a couple of minutes,I’m sure, it calmly stood up, turned and walked off into the forest and I just made as much noise as I could. I picked up a big stick and started swinging it around to look big and dangerous, and walked past where the cougar had been and went home. I often heard a cougar out in the woods, screaming not far from my front door at night. It sounded like a woman screaming, and the first time I heard it I thought some woman was being attacked by somebody or something. I called my neighbor up the road to make sure she was OK and she started laughing and told me not to worry, that it was just a cougar. So yes, cougars are very very common here. They just usually hide from people so most people don’t know how close they are to them. We don’t have many grizzly bears in this part of the country, but we do have black bears which are smaller and not as vicious. Love your videos, yes, please more of your mom.! 🙂
I think the most f'ed up thing about moose is that they remember! So, if a moose in the wild is fed by a human, they'll remember and attack the next human that doesn't have food for them. They rude af lmaoo
We get lock downs in schools in some areas for mountain lions (cougars) wandering around, lol, so we arent allowed outside if ones been spotted around. Its happened a handful of times for me.
@SurferJoe46 4. Pumas. I dont know if you meant this for me specifically or if you were just explaining, but I already knew that. That's why I put it in parentheses. Thanks though! 😄

Buffalo wings are chicken wings covered in Buffalo sauce which is equal parts melted butter and hot sauce
I had a scorpion encounter in the Smoky mountains Tennessee during a rented cabin.

Google an image of an 'Orb Spider's ' I had one in Florida that looks like more of an alien bug than anything. The weavers to spin unbelievable webs
Your mom asked, "What do you do." I live in the country. And if I'm in the forest, I have two boom sticks with me.
Gators are NOT slow and lazy. They move like lightning when they are hunting. Which is why standing at the water's edge for a sunset/sunrise selfie is a dangerous idea in Florida.
Can’t they run like 20 mph?
Or like.. gallup?
Run might not be the right word. They are a "quick strike" killer. Surprise is their weapon. They have a good sprint in them, but they don't really have distance.
They are fast as hell but in short spurts. As they’re cold blooded they have bursts of speed but cannot sustain a run like a horse
Alligators can reach up to 35mph in just a few seconds but can't run for any real distance. Mainly just around 20ft. They are quick strike, sneaky, very well camouflaged in the water, and stubborn.
I believe they can move very fast on land when they need to. They are faster on land than in water.
One lives in my area outside of Dallas. They have a 200. Sq. Mile territory.
Had pictures my friend took in almost all of them there was a cougar trailing us the entire hike.
Yup,
or if you a bunch of bear cubs alone.
or maybe not so alone.
Umm javelinas and wild boars are different animals.
And Arizona has both javelinas and wild boars. Wild boars are also known as feral hogs.
Running works, running fast works best... lol.
Is it a bobcat or a evolved feral cat?

Bull sharks males, have the most testosterone of any male animal in the world. Hormones super charge their aggression.
Alligators aren't lazy. They are ambush predators so they wait until you get close. They are quite fast even out of the water.
Sharks don't 'chew'. The bite off chunks of meat and swallow the whole chunk.

@thebibliobibuli6395 it took about a week after I got bit ( I never found the tick ) for the symptoms to start and it was brutal by the time I was admitted to the hospital my liver was shutting down I was dehydrated and rapidly losing weight because everything including water I threw up I had a high temperature, they did all kinds of tests I had IVs in both arms and just kinda in a daze for about the first 5 days in the hospital they kept me 5 more days to make sure all my organs were still good and I gained a little weight, I was 21 at the time in peak shape and it took about 6 months to fully recover and everything has been good for the 43 years since
Ugh, ticks give me the heebie geebies. I’d rather have leeches feasting on me than ticks.

No Gators can move about 20 mph. They are very dangerous.
They can actually do short bursts of up to 35 miles per hour, useful for ambush hunting coming out of the water.. The fastest human run ever recorded was just under 28 miles per hour. They've got the best of us outpaced by 7 mph.
@@donaldwatson7698 Which is why you're supposed to zig zag when you run away from them. Apparently their legs don't let them change direction quickly.

What do you mean that they don't have wings? I see flocks of them flying around all the time.

Montana, our most beautiful state imo.
Lol
I so enjoyed seeing your mom with you again. She's quite lovely. I love that it seems y'all have a really good relationship. Cherish each other.
Yogi Bear is in the fictional park of Jellystone.
And an actual RV/cabin park around the country. Named after Yogi Bear.
Hey boo-boo, what’s in the picnic
basket, yogi you know what Mr. Ranger said about… lol
Yogi I bear was based off yellowstone
Stop saying it was fictional! What’s next the Easter Bunny, tooth fairy and Santa!
Don't forget Boo Boo Bear!
You are right about American pitbull terriers. Our Pittbull, Angel, fit her name. She tried to take care of us when we were sick, protected us from bad people, worked to lift us out of depression, and loved us unconditionally. It's how the owners train them
Angel was part of the family until she died and is greatly missed.
😢
I've got 3 pitties and they are all afraid of my gang of maine coon cats. The cats rule the house and the dogs rule my workshop
My pitty is a sweetheart too!
Mum is real cool bruh, love the family bond
Buffalo wings had me cracking up.
Buffalo wings were invented in Buffalo, NY. The special flavor was created and used on chicken wings.
Yes 👍, more MOM!!!
Yes! Very charming.
Give her her own microphone❤
Buffalo wings are chicken wings and drums seasoned with buffalo sauce - i think it comes from Buffalo, New York. They are awesome
I love your mom! I live in the Yosemite National Park area of California. One time I was gold prospecting in the Merced river in the summer when the water was really low. Well, I was bending down using my pan, when I noticed about 15 feet away from me was a mountain lion dragging a deer that was bigger than I was! I stayed still until it passed, and slowly backed up and got into my jeep and got the hell away from there!!🤣
Love Grandma Debbie
Grandma Debbie.... 🏃🏼♀️💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You show them Yellowstone when they visit us & I will show them Lake Michigan & The Dunes National Park in Indiana ❤ they need to see both those places if they ever visit us.
Good job!
That was bad enough, but it was also horrible having my mother rip my towel off in front of all my cousins 😅
Also look up a cougar scream. Imagine hearing that in the middle of the night 🫣
Bears don't attack to eat humans (there are some exceptions, but rare) they'll attack due to being territorial.
Yep. Pitties are really sweet and gentle when raised properly by loving pet parents. All the ones my fiance and I have ever met are big ole babies!!
When I was growing up My aunt in Vermont Would take a wooden spoon and dish pan with her while she was hanging wash on the line. When a bear showed up, she would beat on the
dish pan with the spoon to chase them away
I’m from Vermont, I live on a back road , every Summer, across the road, three moose show up
You two crack me up! 😂😂😂😂😂
You & Your Mom play off of each other well - the timing & playful banter you have together is terrific.
“Buffalo Wings”
🤣🤣🤣
Its better than beef and melts in your mouth when cooked just right
Sweeter than beef
Montana grill does that were you get one bison one beef@ryankieth1675
Bison has much less fat, so more care needs to be taken cooking. Or it becomes dry, and tough.
You know what I've noticed? When you're with your mom your accent comes out even more 😂 I love it! I'm American from California and moved around to Texas, Arizona and now Oregon. I was a truck driver for 6 years and have been everywhere!
Persephone's is my son's cats name! Goddess of the underworld!
ive moved around a bit when i was a kid, ppl get soo confused trying to place my accent. its a mixture Mo and Tx. sometimes i sound like a country boy, and then a city boy lol
I'm dying!!!🤣😂
"Do buffalo have wings?" Bahahaha!
Omgomgomg just hilarious 😂
BUFFALO WINGS 🪽 🤣🤣 that was a good laugh 😆
Yes, scorpions do come in the house. Even in Arizona.
In Texas it is common to find them in the bathroom. Then like the cool tile.
And they’re not only found in the desert. In temperate Georgia, we have different scorpions, but I’ve found them inside plenty of times
@@sailorellie9133 Yes, we have them in Alabama too. Smaller than the ones in the desert.
It depends what part you're in but we get them in Colorado too. Yes they get in the house too
And Peachtree City, Georgia.
"What do you do you do if you dont have tape?"
Well, you probably start by NOT jumping on the alligator 😂😂
And to add to this, even with tape, you would never try and tackle an alligator that is in water. Alligators are extremely proficient swimmers and would buck you off in about a second in water.
Not to downplay their murderous efficacy on land though. They are extremely fast, even on land.
And they cling fences. That’s why we have trappers.
We LOVE your Mom.....you too Lewis! 😃
Ha!! The Buffalo wings part actually made me laugh out loud😂😂😂Buffalo is a city in New York where chicken wings snack originated
Your mom is absolutely adorable. The banter between you two is so fun. Had me rolling with the Buffalo wings 😂
Really enjoyed having your mom on again! She’s very funny. “That cougar (mountain lion) is so cute, you just want to take it home”,😂😂 Nope, not a good idea- an American mountain woman
The most dangerous one she likes.
We have Coyotes that do that.
-The buffalo wings bit while talking about American bison short-circuited my brain, I hate you Buffalo wild wings for that 😂
-Respectfully Mum....Yogi was from JELLYSTONE not Yellowstone 🤣💀
-YAAAS the Eastern Coral Snake!
-when it comes to alligators, ask your fellow men the Aussies about what they do if they don't have tape for a crocodile's mouth, they rope that SOB up
5:05 buffalo sauce from buffalo New York
Poor Lewis 😂
@@sector986poor Lewis? Poor mum!
Buffalo are bison. Buffalo wings are chicken wings with a sauce that was first created in the city of Buffalo, New York
I came here to say that.
My story of scorpions is from a guy talking about his house in Texas. He had been ignoring millipedes in his house until he woke up to find scorpions gobbling them up
So happy to see Mum again. Please keep making videos with her! 😊❤
Love your Mum. She is great and the chemistry between you two is so grand. Do more videos with her, please!
love it when Mum is on
Sharks swallow the chunks they get when they take bites.
Been in Florida most of my life as well and it’s true. They usually leave you alone but better to keep your head on a swivel.
Sedona?
Close. Prescott.
@@sjo7869 that was my second guess. My sis lives in Cottonwood and my daughter in Tucson. I moved from California to Georgia
Loving mom in this video!!! More of her please. Your reactions to each other is classic mom and son. Great video.
1. Mountain Lions 2. Cougars 3. Panthers ---- same-o, same-o. It just depends on the location, location, location.
@SurferJoe46 4. Pumas. I dont know if you meant this for me specifically or if you were just explaining, but I already knew that. That's why I put it in parentheses. Thanks though! 😄
