Felix career has gone nowhere for the past 2 years, he has to try something different, maybe a change of coaching team may help, he is certainly not playing to his full potential.
People have figured him out I guess. He lacks variety in his game and I don’t think changing his team would mix things up. It’s up to him not them necessarily.
just seems like he’s never tried to do anything special w the backhand. if you’re going to play a RBA type everything crosscourt and be an endurance man type gamestyle, he better get faster and stronger than this! but i think he should work on change of direction and adding power to the backhand
I don't know what Felix's problem is, but it's a shame for his talent. It is not normal for an athletic, fast and agile player with such a serve and forehand to fall apart like this.
He was never really talented. His game has always been dull and heavy, lacking technical aspects of the game.Such players always get exposed.Same with Shapovalov.
@@krakatit7730I see what you mean but he literelly played 10 times better 2 or 3 years ago. He is young and should improve but it seems to even get worse. 2 years ago after the very strong end of the 2022 season (including the atp-finals) I expected him to make it into the top 5 in the 2023 season or at least in 2024, now he can barely win a match against a top 100 guy
@@linusgeorges6733 I dont think he was "10 times better" but he was not known to others and with zero pressure on him. By now, others learned about his weaknesses and he has much more pressure on himself, which makes tennis much more difficult. Ask pro players. Its like night and day.
Unfortunately true. Andreescu as well. Canadian tennis looked terrific a few short years ago. It looks pretty bleak at the moment. Shapo is done and Felix is almost done.
Mensik has a similar forehand to Nakashima. Kind of a dragging forehand where the player lets the racquet fall far back and low before they initiate the swing from the hips through the shoulders. This is possibly because of a fear of lacking control in the shot. With this technique the lag will be ”soft” and modest and might therefore feel more managable. On the other hand, much will be down to the swinging arm. Mensik has apparently had arm injuries and I wouldn’t be surprised if he were to have more. What becomes compromised gamewise, on the other hand, is his regular rally ball on the forehand which he, if he wants to hit big, has to force a bit.
Felix has not risen his game with the rest of the pro tour in 2 years and this is what we are seeing. Him trying his best but looking like he’s left in the dust. His mind looks blank in matches more so than ever and he doesn’t seem to be trending in the right direction.
@@obsesivegamer That's great, so did Felix (twice). And it doesn't matter what title Dimitrov won, the point is he has/had the ability to win a slam even with prime Djoker, Nadal, and Fed. It never happened
Draper would have won anyway. FAA has no strategy at all. For example,he played rublev in the Madrid final . All rublev was doing was hitting to FAA BH side to force the error and it paid. All he does is giving his opponent rythm. Once you get used to it….
It’s not becase he lost, but because he lost 3-0. Alcaraz lost set, Sinner lost set, Medvedev lost set, but hey Mensik does not lose set to fixer Felix. Wake up to reality and stop dreaming
No way this is fixed. FAA is inconsistent in general and this performance is nothing out of the ordinary from what we've seen from him in recent times.
Mensik has insane potential. Dude is a 6'4'' physical monster already and is only 18 years old.
People aren't talking about this enough, we'll see how he does round 2.

Both Felix and Shapo have shown they're not capable of what we thought. Felix is looking like a top 20 to top 50 player nothing special.
Jakub is going to be top 10 player in 2 years

Menqik future top 10 i follow him for a while he is a complete player and only 18
Sad to watch Felix falling lower and lower...he has to make big changes!!!
He has been playing quite a bit better this season, one match doesn't change that...
Getting Nadal as a coach has killed Felix’s career. He’s going backwards ever since.
Nicely done 😊
I am proud of Felix 3 sets and no bagels.
Great game, Jakub.👍
What a season felix is having.......
Sad to see FAA decline like that. He was a joy to watch at his peak.
FAA losing in straight sets!
So many seeded players already gone in the First Round!
Please stop revealing the winner in the thumbnail
At this rate Felix is going to become the Dimitrov of this generation
Dimitrov made quarter-finals

How embarrassing from the Canadians! Both Felix and Shapo gone in straight sets.

I guess the match with Draper affected him way more than we thought. Also, his form lately was kinda hot and cold .
what just happened? Felix is so likeable. it’s ok. don’t panic.
