Speaking of Eric, don’t ever lose him. He is stellar with his electric telling of your songs. One of my favorite guitarists to listen to right now. Thanks.
The opening line “Hi it’s Dave and I’m here to talk to you about this guitar “ gives me a sense for the kind of soft sell approach he used to manipulate that poor women into buying that expensive vacuum.
Phoenix has some of the best guitar sounds I’ve ever heard. In fact, your records have always had the best guitar/drum recordings I’ve heard. Would definitely enjoy seeing how’s it’s all done in the studio. Will try to catch one of your UK shows too!
Awesome! Love this video. I often revisited the website that listed the recording info for Achilles Heel. I feel like this is the next generation version of that.
Appreciate you sharing! Really hope you make it over to play Scotland sometime. All the best with the release. Love Modesto - zeroed in on the guitar sound quite a bit while listening and have been playing my girlfriend's G&L tele (two P90s) quite a bit since.
This video put my three-year-year-old to sleep within two minutes. You’ve got the magic touch, Dave. Also, I will watch every gear video you put out. I think it’s great stuff and would love it if you played a song or strummed some chords too.
I love these videos, David. Is this what rings out that first chord in Modesto? I wondered if that was a P90 because my SG Junior has a strikingly similar voicing. The SG Junior is the first guitar in about 10 years that I've felt is "mine", so I fully get what you were trying to describe the sensation of.
Nice job Dave! I love hearing about the gear that helped make the cool sounds you've produced! Keep 'em coming! I'd love to hear about the different bass guitars you've used! I also saw a cool Dr. Z M12 at a few of your shows I'd like to know about. Anyways, anything gear related or audio recording related would be cool. Really any video! It's fun hearing you talk about music and records!
I know what you mean about having a guitar feel like "your guitar". It's a wholesome feeling. I would like it if you made more videos talking about the gear you love. Have you ever played an older Traynor Amp? I feel like you would appreciate their sound.
These videos are awesome! I’ve always admired your guitar tones so any kind of info on that stuff is always welcome. From what I gather you use very few effects and more just driven amps. But would love to know more about gear used on Pedro/Bazan recordings.
Cool to see! Especially since my main guitar is a blonde ‘64 Esquire. :) What tuning(s) was Eric using on the last tour? Saw you all in Portland for the Control/Friend show and really loved the sounds he got. Also man, just thank you for giving me so many years of beautiful music and inspiration. Can’t wait for the new record! ❤
Dude... I don't know you but I've listened to your music a lot of my life. Not obsessively. But just enough so that it's always really special and real. And you remind me of one of my best friends. You surely have inspired us in our own path of making music and I'm always blown away by the maturity of your song writing. These types of videos that are just real life talking about your real gear and their history and memories is perfect. Hope to catch you on tour in Tx!

I love gear too. Talk to us about your Mustang bass!
Agreed! I need to know how he got that amazing live tone

I enjoy the new record Dave. Thanks for the musings.
Santa Cruz is just an incredible record. Had to come here to learn more about the sound as it’s a vibe for sure.
David- do more of this
Really authentic way to connect with fans. Big fan of this content. Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks, Dave! Do a pedalboard rundown next??
Santa Cruz just sneakily became my record of the summer so I'm knee deep in all things Pedro right now
i loved this more please
These videos are great, and seem like an authentic feeling way of promoting your album ❤️
Thanks, Dave! ❤
Hey Dave. I love this content, if you enjoy it please continue!
Nice to meet you!
please do more, these are great
So excited to see you in Asheville man. Been waiting since I was 15 and can't wait to listen.

I like this, Dave.
Dave plays the blues!
Saw a post-show blues jam with SF59 in mpls in 04 at the 400 bar, so Lenz, Martin, TW were in, not sure who else.
So TW Walsh is a member? I was wondering what Bands with Managers was talking about
Awesome! Love this video. I often revisited the website that listed the recording info for Achilles Heel. I feel like this is the next generation version of that.
Thanks for sharing, dave! I’ve loved that guitar since seeing it in the Phoenix gatefold photo.
Could we get a tone demo video as a gear nerd to

See ya on the next one :-)
I wonder what the guitar rig was was Control. And Achilles Heel?

Fralin steel pole pickups are fantastic, if you like a P90 style pickup in a regular tele or strat format

Hello to Dave's kitchen!
do you still have your synth setup that you used to perform Blanco?

I wonder where his original telecaster ended up . . put airtags on your baby guitars :)
I’d love to hear a little bit about the wiring.
