Very informative presentation, thank you! Nice to see DJED liquidity pools and yield farming on the ADA dexes. Having a stable coin to invest in is great as it reduces impermanent loss. I noticed that wingrider dex even has ADA stablecoin palrs in for pools and farming, calling them "Stableswaps." Very good stuff!

Hold on, so at 4:13 ADA increases to $1.20. Had Steve simply held his 4000 ADA, it'd be worth $4800, rather than 4166. Though I suppose that's because Linda had withdrawn a significant portion of the collateral. Had she held her djed, Steve would be up to $6000 (=5000ada×1.2usd). Am I understanding this right?
Hey Ray, unfortunately no, you've got the ADA and dollars mixed up together. Steve will have 4000 ADA going into it, and 4166 ADA coming out. Linda had 1000 ADA going into it, and 833 ADA coming out. In dollar terms, that would mean that Steve would have had $4000 going in, and near enough to $5000 coming out. Had he just held it, he would have $4800. Linda would have $1000 going in, and $1000 going out.
I actually run my own stakepool on Cardano so my preferred staking platform is myself! haha. But yes, self custody is always king. With the collapse of FTX etc last year, I think that this shows that we should not use centralised staking services, even if they do pay a higher APY. Get your own Cardano wallet, watch some security videos on how to protect yourself properly, and go from there. Having self-custody also helps you interact with Cardanos emerging and vibrant defi ecosystem.
You seem to specialize in understanding Cardano, are there any other coins you think highly of? I think your channel could get a lot of traction if you diversify into other coins, or even just talk about basic things for crypto noobs like using metamask, accessing different exchanges, explaining smart contracts etc
Yep! I am even running my own stakepool/validator on Cardano. I have always wanted to branch out into different chains but there is a lot going on in Cardano and I am deeply involved there. Next bullrun, I will diversify into some other projects. Polkadot always has had a soft spot in my heart. Algorand is another. I own a reasonable amount of Ergo and will probably take a closer look at Matic too.
Djed is the decentralized bank no regulation can do anything about it, so one can imagine where the value from other stablecoins us going to flow in once the regulations go after them
Please explain how it’s a scam? I’m well aware of its shortfalls in scalability and how Shen can become locked below 400%, but, where is the scam? It’s worked well on Ergo so far.
@@jamesrolls9206 Show me how it's not just another Stablecoin scam. Where does the value the assets come from to take profits out of? All I see is another Algorithmic Stablecoin with a more complicated mechanism involving multiple coins, pools, and supposed limits, which might take longer to crash, but with zero intrinsic value. Either you don't understand the scheme, which is more obtuse than say Luna, or you are hoping that by promoting the scheme you can profit off a greater fool, but either way, it is nothing more than the latest scam. Even if you personally manage to profit by passing this hot potato off to another victim, the real money will be made, as always, by the creators of the scheme and their backers. If you don't know what the real assets are that generate returns, then you are the asset. I'd wish you good luck, but either you will wind up a victim, or will victimize someone else.
