I am very critical when a song is played and claimed to be from a former musician conductor! This wasn't Cole Porters Version. This young man played a part that was dubbed in and had some "Trills" thrown in! Cole Porter never did that to this song. Made it sound cheesy and cheap! I liked the whole orchestra together. But the clarinet solo adding the trill was totally worthless. Even the kids mistake is acceptable in the high note areas. I played the clarinet in school for over 20 years plus the bass clarinet and trumpet and trombone and piano! That is why I am critical on the variation on this title of "Begin The Beguine"! But I will admit, see how talented and versatile these people are? They play two sometimes three instruments! For that I say Bravo!
why is there always some musical wanna be, like you, who has always got to find something wrong with the music.. I'm sure your musical skill is that of a Kazoo Player and not the musical genius you think you are.
No, it's not Cole Porter's version--it's Artie Shaw's. These days, most big bands copy the Jerry Gray-Artie Shaw arrangement, including even the Boston Pops.
