Is it really as strong, durable, and easy to apply as it seems? And does the utilized cold-acting adhesive really retain its sticking power all the way through the heat shrinking process? I made you guys a very, very bad beat, but I spent some time on it so I didn't want to just throw it away and waste it. Hello there. Although not recommended, if properly installed yes a lighter would help shrink the product. The reason why we typically do not recommend a lighter with the Shrink-N-Repair products is that if not done properly the wires behind the protective covering may melt or create soot on your wire.
I also use a lighter. Always have. That being the biggest drawback would be the occasional soot stains it'll will leave on the shrink wrap. So if it's for something that's meant to be seen (like my PC wiring) I try to go very smooth and methodical. Also if you're new to using shrink wrap id recommend not using a lighter as it's very difficult to control heat spots, etc. Like the comment above.

I use a lighter to shrink the regular heat shrink. Would it be ok to still use the lighter on this?
