I mended a hole in the thigh of my husband's work jeans today. I noticed the other thigh looked like it will give out sooner than later. Thanks for making this video and giving me the confidence to do some preventative mending on the second thigh. I wasn't sure if repairing something that wasn't ripped yet was crazy or not. I feel good about doing it now.
Good for you! 😊 if you're already mending something it's always a good idea to check if there's more that can be done at the same time - I always restitch loose buttons before they pop off 🧵
I also had a favourite pair of jeans that I kept fixing! And another pair of pants too. They were just SO comfy! I'd love to see jacket/coat and footwear stuff!
Oh yeah! My thighs are so sexy they can't stop touching each other! Lol! My favorite jeans have patches on the inner thighs. I'll keep mending them untill they are more patch than denim!✌🏼💕
I found a pair of incredibly high wasted jeans at a thrift store that make me so comfortable and feel so cute and I made the mistake of walking home from work in them 😭 I have iron on fabric but I don’t have an iron (or a sewing machine) and my hand sewing skills are not perfect. The only thing I’m worried about with this technique is if putting the patches on the inside will cause thigh skin irritation? My mom suggested putting the patches on the outside but then they’ll definitely be visible and come off more easily 😂
If you're concerned about irritation simply use a soft scrap fabric (like flannel) & hand stitch it to the inside, who cares if it's not perfect? 🤩Perfection is the enemy of good so never give a toss about trying to be perfect - I didn't start sewing until my late 30's & am totally self-taught so my skills are absolutely not "perfect" but they are most definitely "good enough" to get the job done & improve with each project that I create & share. Do you have a tip on how to do this without a sewing machine? I find that just ironing the patches on is not enough, but I don't have a sewing machine and I don't know anyone that does...
I've had 2 pair of jeans that I just hated to not have anymore. On one of them I cut out the worn out spots and did a bunch of hand sewn reverse applique with a darker jean material - it now has a bunch of peacock feathers on it. On my other pair of jeans, I took a bunch of fabric scraps (I'm an avid sewer and quilter) and sewed on tons of patches everywhere. I get a lot of compliments on both my jeans but I love the peacock pair the most.
love it... I did this on a pair too but, on one it's pulling at the material around. I like to free motion "quilt" details on a fun fabric when I patch.
Must get myself some of these iron-on patches! I too have the same problem and my favourite pair of jeans have been sitting on the shelf with worn out inner thighs! So disappointing, but now, I can fix them and wear them again! Yay!

I got mine at a dollar store for super cheap but you can also get them at stores like Walmart or craft/sewing shops too 😊 (just ask for "iron on patches")

I watched your video on repairing belt loops. I immediately repaired 2 pairs of my husbands jeans. Now I will be ready when he needs patch somewhere else. I mend them because he would rather wear them with broken belt loops or holes then have to break in a new pair of jeans. He loves his old jeans.
This is great. I have a couple of pairs that need this kind of mend. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do visible mending or this kind. I think this is the one. Thanks.
I’ve idea is, when you get new jeans, to do this ahead of time. Before they wear comes on.

When we finally manage to find jeans that fit comfortably we must make them last as long possible 😁👖
Jeans are definitely my "must mend" item. Tshirt holes are another appliqué must do.
Tshirts, sweatshirts & sweaters are def worth mending 😊

Does wearing a cycling short under the jeans fix the problem?
It wouldn't stop thighs rubbing together & wearing out the denim but would definitely "fill in" the worn out areas as a temporary fix 😁

No worries 😁 most iron on patches are made of denim but I have seen some corduroy as well, use whatever you find & enjoy your refashionista journey!
I need to try this, been holding onto a pair of once beloved stretchy denim shorts that I haven’t had the heart to part with.
I'm actually mending my fave pair of stretchy black jeans today - it really works on all kinds of denim! 🤩
