- I really can't thank you all enough for making a trip like this possible. This was a tremendous experience that had my mind racing with possibilities! If I could have I would've met up with everyone hoping to see me, but I hope everyone was able to enjoy themselves at the con despite my constant meandering. haha

I didn’t get to go, but I watched the streams of the cosplay parade, and I legit lost my shit AT WORK when I saw you walk across the stage! So glad you had an enjoyable (if line-filled and exhausting) time!
I remembered your cosplay for the stream and just recently discovered your channel and have been watching all your content but I only just now made the connection between your character/cosplay and the show and realized I remembered you from the cosplay walk. Thanks for all the cool lore videos giving me new insights on the jobs I like!

It was great meeting you, man! Glad to have ben able to give you one of my stickers. And here's a protip for long cons, compression socks! They were the only reason I was standing by the end of day 2.
It was still fun to meet a bunch of creators at Fanfest even if it was for like a night. Glad to have met you, Dipperdog, Jocat, etc. Even if it was for an hour or so.
Hopefully you get to enjoy conventions outside of FFXIV and enjoy those too.
Yeah Scribe. I got to 3-4 conventions each year and yeah, 1-2hrs standing in line is normal to do activities. Some conventions have VIP badges which makes it easier, but those are costly. Glad you had a great time.
My best friend and I were watching the festival stream and both cheered quite loudly when we saw you walk across the stage.
It is still an honor to meet you. It was first fanfest ever and while it was a bit of a mess but still a wonderful experience.

I was going to make a joke about the lines at Lunarcon, but then I remembered you knew all about that. You had a panel there last year, and your outro on many other videos is you walking down one of the lines. (For those that don't know, it's a con hosted inside FFXIV so you can experience standing in line for hours without leaving the comfort of your favorite chair.)
Also something amusing about a fella named Scribe saying he enjoyed taking notes while Yoshi P talked. You live up to your name!
If you feel up to a Final Fantasy in general convention run by fans, I can attest to the madness that is KupoCon :) Its usually held in a hotel, taking up a whole floor basically, with the main auditorium held for the panels where they chat with various Voice Actors, and even the people involved with the various games music such as Susan Calloway, and the band/composer for Kingsglaive for example. The other rooms are dedicated for a signing bit, a trading card room, a couple of merch vendor rooms, so you can usually find somewhere to cool off and chill out.
And yeah, the convention experience is usually the people you're there with and meet up with. Glad to hear that you overall enjoyed the convention, and hope to bump into you one of these days down the line. Although if its a Vegas Con, I am packing bottles upon bottles upon bottles of water xD
I was going to say the same. I've been to one KupoCon convention, and it's so much smaller and friendlier than the big ones. Mind you, I will go to London Fan Fast this year just to experience it once.

My husband basically saved my seat while I waited in lines to do things. I loved seeing everyone there, and despite it all, people were nice. I didn't get to meet you, but I did see you walk by (didn't want to bother you). Thank you for all your content!!

Was only able to go for three hours due to some sudden issues (still got FF Covid though :/ ). Never saw you in person but found it super cool to find a magnet and sticker near the Radz section with your name and logo on it!
Now I wish I went despite all what happened there. But then, Vegas is often booming regardless.

I was the Au Ra cosplayer with the Cruadin that say hi to you when you were hanging out at the cosplay gathering, and to this day I still kick myself for not getting a photo with you AAAAAAAAAAA
EDIT: the line during Keynote was such a mess - our cosplay DC was sending SOS messages as some members were stuck outside in the blazing heat and some needed ADA assistance.
All the points you made with the line ups are all valid points. Back in 2018 it was NOT this disorganized by any means.
I feel very bad for all the WoLs whose first FF is 2023...as it was definitely lacking in organization and I wish they'll improve with the next one
glad you had fun, though you've also convinced me never to go to a convention myself. i'm not a particularly social person myself so I doubt i'd get much enjoyment out of it.
It definitely sounds like the con was kind of a mess. Lines and waits are VERY common, buuut. . . Dang. I definitely don't know if I could survive (literally) that kind of wait in that kind of heat. I wonder if you might consider hitting up DragonCon at some point. I had an absolute BLAST when I went in 2017 with my bestie and it was much better organized. It's more for gamers in general, but there's a huge FF community there, too. If you enjoyed FF, you might very well enjoy DC!

Hahaha, i got no clue about fanfest (since the last German one was right when I started playing for real xD ) but conventions always are a little extra and you will always miss out on something, also well how do you want to avoid long lines without straight limiting the tickets even more. My recommendation, i got myself a small extendable seat that normally passes through inspection since it's not bigger than a bag but still depends on the convention.

So glad you and so many people had a blast at fan fest. And love that your folks helped with the travel even if it was sorta an excuse to see some shows. I may not want to ever go that far south due to even winter heat but the shows of Vegas sound almost as fun as fan fest. I adored you're walk on the little flare of acting on the stage was cute. What a gift from JoCat though! But the mental image of you writing away during the shows fill me with enough joy to make up for Fan Fest not being in Canada. So glad you enjoyed it for us folks who couldn't go. As for cons you might like well check your province (or state) and see which draws your attention. I'm sure you'll find one seems fun and follow JoCat's advise.

It's a shame you couldn't see the mob museum while you were there. That was my favorite part of Vegas.
Glad you had an overall good time at fan fest. My experience was similar to yours just spending time with friends that I’ve known from this game for a few years but finally got to meet.
As far as conventions go, my experience is mainly with comic con which is a huuuge convention that takes up the entire San Diego convention center so it’s hard to say if having that many people in one room is normal. However the lines are normal from my experience lol
I have a genuine question for people who stood in that merch line.
Why?
From my understanding there wasn’t anything there that you couldn’t get on the SE website was there? I know SE site shipping is expensive but if I wanted merch I’d rather just pay for the shipping and enjoy my time at the convention with my friends and enjoy Vegas a bit too
That being said it was pretty clear that the convention center staff was not prepared for this convention
I suppose an odd question i have is where there any people you planned to meet with who looked different than you imagined them to from your online interactions
Not really. People's voices rarely match their appearance irl so I was just happy to be around them in person. haha

I will point out that the norm for many conventions is that they get PACKED, to the point they may or may not have broken fire codes or oversold tickets. However, that's definitely not safe or okay and something people are trying to change this about conventions as a whole. Especially not in the United States for obvious reasons.

I have a question for you sir scribe, why is your chosen glam the hood and mask? Its cool but im curious why its your choice.
I wanted to do something different. Most FFXIV RUclipsrs make their WoL very pretty and doll them up to be the channel's mascot. I chose to do the opposite. Instead of making my WoL pretty I covered him in robes and a mask to create an air of mystery and detach my character from my work.

Also, i found it interestimg that you live on the east coast. Mainly just because before i knew that i assumed that since i do too and noticed similarities in how we speak. Im not trying to locate you or anything just wanted to point it out because i thought it was cool.

I was shocked we weren't going to meracydia. I'm wondering if we actually are though stormblood style. A lot of people didn't seem to like that about stormblood that it had two areas. But i actually did like that and wouldn't mind if it happens again.
I saw you a couple of times, I was wondering if you were cosplaying as yourself because that glam is really obscure for someone to just pick at random.

Not that I can complain too much, I know I got the rare chance to do nearly everything else, more than most, including getting merch. I was incredibly blessed just being there. I just hope if there is a next time I can meet you.
God dang it I should have gone to Las Vegas then I could have met you and hear some incredible stories that maybe remove your mask muhahaha only joking Maybe but then again my stomach wouldn't be too happy also might not have arrived on time since I live far from Las Vegas not too far but I have to go across some States either way I'm glad you had a great time there hopefully the next Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival will be around my area since I don't like to long travel places I don't hate traveling is my stomach I hate car sickness😑

covid takes 7 to 14 days to manifest so yeah wasn't covid. probably just regional microbes your body wasn't use to.
