- During a debate on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Tuesday, American political scientist Norman Finkelstein pressed the spokesperson for Hebron’s Jewish settler community, Yishai Fleisher, on whether he would accept Palestinians voting in Israeli elections after Fleisher argued that Israel should take over the occupied West Bank and Gaza and turn its current residents into Israeli citizens.

It was only then that Jordan revoked their Jordanian nationality under pressure from the Arab League and handed over the authority to the PLO. That's when Jordanian citizens became the stateless Palestinians overnight.

Just for those who might not get the question asked by Norman or it's implications and why Yisai avoided it like a plague is that if he agreed - which of course he and other Israelis will never agree to - then Israel will become the minority while Palestinians will become the majority hence becoming the ruler/government since the deal in the question is that "one man, one vote".

They will tell you they had Hebron 3500 years ago, and so they can expand Jewish neighbourhoods where Palestinians end up being forced out one way or another. Same with the villages. But current international law is not about that. History does not give anyone the right to expel someone from a house that has inherited from their parents. And this goes both ways -- with many settlements you should make "tabula rasa", in line with what Olmert proposed, even if those settlements were illegal two decades ago. The thing is that this madness must stop, even though both the majority of Israelis and the majority of Palestinians disagree. Recognize current settlements, OK, but stop at once, make IDF disengage from the West Bank, strictly forbid future settlements, and recognize the Palestinian State as well!

The people in the West Bank had the Jordanian nationality untill 1988, 2 decades beyond 1967. The state of Palestine and "Palestinian people" are fairly recent developments in history.

The vision of an Israeli settler: Palestinians to be given "permanent residency" in their own but Israeli-occupied land and so can not participate in Israeli elections since they're just residents, not citizens. BUT as a show of generosity and respect, for democratic processes; they (Palestinians) will be allowed by Israel to participate in Jordanian elections. 🤭
