Whenever I’m doing an oil change, I will drive up on the ramps, and then use jack stands as a safety backup.

They typically aren’t used for the same think so it’s really no comparison unless your solely talking about Oil Changes…for Brakes,Rotors, Wheel hubs .Ect

Jack stands for sure, more versatile and if i die, i die.
At least i'll do everything by the books, so that i become an honorable pancake in the afterlife, if the accident still occurs.

Ramps in conjunction with timber cribs and traditional axle stands, for added safety it would also pay to place vehicle jacks on both sides of the vehicle, lastly i like to finish off with pneumatic air bags to safeguard against catastrophic failure... i'ts better to be safe than sorry!!!

If you do any tire or brake work, you cannot use ramps!
