how do i write an if function in open office to make a partial lookup for a word and then return a value say 1
forecast 1
dforecast 2
win single 3
outmode 4
say the above was in colums A AND B(ie words in column A and numbers in column B)
how would i write IF function in column C to return the value of column B checking column A for words that contain forecast as a partial match

I've been trying "IF(F20; 1; 0)", and it just displays the formula in the cell and won't perform the comparison. Very frustrating.
