I've just dug up my New Guinea impatiens and going to give a try at overwintering them. Thanks for sharing. I've been overwintering the same geraniums for 5 years now. I hose them down to remove all of the dirt and bring them in and give them a fungicide/sulphur I think it's called, solution bath. I trim them down, give them new soil, water and leave them by my windows all winter. They're not watered much but they continue to bloom through til spring. It's nice to see flowers during the drab days of winter here in Toronto.
Thanks and the new guineas died shortly sadly . I have had geraniums indoors do well . One from summer 2023 brought it out after last frost and bloomed great all summer . This winter I took that inside also my two new ones . I tried the paper bag method letting them dry that didn’t work a few years back . So what I do is put them in the kitchen were south sunny window is . I treat them like all my other houseplants and will bring back outside in mid May . I’m zone 6 New York State . You can check out my geranium videos made last week of them .
Not sadly it started dropping lots of leaves . I did winter a geranium plant inside that produced lots of foliage all winter . Brought that outside after last frost mid May now it’s blooming outside .
