What did you use to make this film?
●Backgrounds: I used Photoshop to paint the bgs, and used Maya to build some of the more complicated sets in 3D before painting over it in PS.
●Animation: I roughed in ToonBoom and cleaned in TV Paint.
●Compositing: Adobe After Effects
How long did it take to make the whole film?
●From start to finish, 8 months (2 semesters)
What inspired this film?
●Always loved badass women in music videos, wanted to make my own fun music video where women can unapologetically be criminals. I watched on repeat "Btich Better Have My Money" by Rihanna, "Look What You Made Me Do" by T Swift, "Telephone" by Gaga, “Bang Bang” by Jessie J and a whole bunch more.

@The Doomslayer Well lets list the pros and cons. Pros: cinematography, sound track, pacing, transitions (i mean rly, that was edgar wright in a bottle), color pallet, character design, art style, animation.
Cons: Weak plot + character development? I mean the 2003 Clone wars shorts only had twice as much time/episode and had the same amount of character development and similarly action oriented plots, and those were award winning too. Not everything needs to have an arc, if it's THAT enertaining on it's own (and I think it is) then that's all it needs to be. And for a minute and 20 seconds of content that moves at such a high pace throughout, they kinda fit a lot in there

The song's breathing sounds perfectly matches the scenery and characters! Its BASICALLY telling you these two are always on the run, and you don't even need to see all the crimes they're committing to notice that!

The way it all comes together in the end continuing the first scene makes it seem like the entire middle portion of the video is like a recap of how they got into that situation while at the same time also turning it into a loop. Amazing.

I remember when I saw it a few weeks after the releasea anonymously! This Animation was one of my biggest inspirations, when I started to design my own characters. Thank you so much for doing that! Even after five years it still looks amazing! The sound design, the camera direction, the colours and the smooth animation-movement are a 11/10
The best part about this is that there is no heartbreaking incident that's going to make the viewer ugly cry, it's just two chicks who don't give a crap and living their best life

I really liked that the video was created, which is not an ordinary sad clip, but an animation created with clearly written content and a smooth action plan (you can understand everything in a timely and clear manner). FROM THE PERFECTION THAT IS THE CHARACTER DESIGNS TO STORYTELLING.
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS IS ASTRONOMICAL!
From the second I saw the first car pop on screen I was in awe, the animation is so smooth and looks so natural and is just everything I want to be able to do.
The characters facial expression are readable so much so we don’t even need dialogue to understand what they’re thinking/saying. And that honest to god take some heck of a skill, the story telling is absolutely amazing, you can read what’s happening without ever being told, the visuals are so pleasing to look at and paired with the before mentioned smooth animation, it’s beautiful!

I love how their crimes slowly got more and more elaborate, and they start having more and more fun. It’s really fun to watch! The animation is also adorable and super well done.
