      I've been watching your videos for inspiration, I have a 2012 Transit Connect. I have one question, I am trying to figure out how you managed to fit that vanity against the wall. Did you cut out the back to go over the wheel hump? Just straight up measuring, the vanity and bed won't fit.

    Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for explaining so in depth all of my questions about the bed!! Now I think I fully understand what you did. Might I add, it is such a practical and clever solution? Seriously: really sensible and easy to build. Hi, I’ve seen other videos where the creator has built a wooden base with piano hinges to fold up into couch mode & they have cut foam pieces & covered them individually to fit. One simple design comes from the channel Eric enjoys Earth. Here’s a link to his bed build. If I make the bed, I’ll make it skinnier & cut the legs to fit my uneven floor in my minivan. ruclips.net/video/h7dM4afXiq8/видео.html.

    • @LadyBugout
      @LadyBugout  3 года назад +1

      Hi! Thanks for a great suggestion. I did eventually find a solution…toggle screws! They are the ones that bend when you put them in and flatten out when you tighten the screw. Worked like a charm.

    Hi Dee, thank you so much for answering all my questions. I didn’t remember seeing your garage so I appreciate your detailed show & tell. Where did u find the patio screen fabric? I would need it for noseeums in FL when I visit family.
    I love the skinny bathroom cabinet. I just might invest in that for the storage if my first build using what I have doesn’t work out. What I would do is attach plywood on the back to extend almost to the roof. It would make a storage space behind it for a tent, window coverings, other odd shape items & fill in with blankets, etc.
    Btw (& it’s not a problem as I’m used to it), my name rhymes with Donna tho over the years bc of people mispronouncing it, my nickname is Mo!!! Thanks for your great videos. Cheers, Mo in NJ

    Thanks so much

    • @LadyBugout
      @LadyBugout  2 года назад +1

      Thank you Sarah! Congratulations, you will love it. I do not have a vent fan. I have two smaller usb fans that I can direct air flow. I think in a small van like a connect, the vents fans are not all that necessary. It is preference. I find that having my front windows cracked a little, I rarely need my fans. It depends where you are going to be as well. I am mostly boondocking and often have my doors open a lot during the day. Hope that helps.☺️

    Hello Dee, one of my favorite things about having a small area or a living quarters I have a Lance camper and I can have that cleaned up in less than 10 minutes lol. Now my house has never been cleaned in 10 minutes not even one room. How much time are you on the road? I love to travel myself. I work as an emergency room RN and I've done that for well let's say 30 plus years. Looking forward to traveling more, I've thought about buying 3 to 5 acres in different locations to have a place to go and travel. I will leave you with a passage I put on my Facebook page see if this resonates with you.
    Learn how to unlabel the labels you've attached to yourself. False beliefs are toxic to ourselves. Empower Yourself by seeing your choices and then using your choices! Don't be caught in the Stream of negativity towards yourself! See you have the potential to change and then act upon that. Knowledge is not power unless you use action with that. You must act upon your knowledge or it becomes merely a thought that can move out like a cloud in the sky. You are as responsible for your non actions in life, then you are your actions!
    I will see you, when I see you!
    Bryan Strasburg

    You didn't add insulation to the walls, floors or ceiling, so I'm wondering how well it handles the hot and cold.

    • @LadyBugout
      @LadyBugout  3 года назад

      Hello Jeffrey! Great question. I purposefully did not insulate. It is such a small space, and I had heard that while it might work well for me in the cold to insulate, in hot weather, it might trap the heat and not let it dissipate. Since I try to be mainly in warmer weather, I just used reflectix where windows are or would be and it seems to keep the temperature comfortable. I have been in 100 degree weather and kept the doors and front windows open and was surprised at how nice it was despite the heat. In the cold, I turn my heat on for 5-10 minutes, get under covers and stay warm. Long answer. But I did a lot of research wondering if it was worthwhile. For me, it did not seem to merit the work. Hope that helps☺️

    Dear Ms. Bugout: I have looked at Transit Connect Vans that I would convert, similar to yours. I'm 6' 1" and I checked with a tape measure, and I don't see any way that I can sleep flat. Do you know if your Connect Van is Short Wheel Base (SWB) or long wheel base (LWB)?

    • @LadyBugout
      @LadyBugout  3 года назад

      Hmmm I’m pretty sure it is a short wheelbase-114.6 inches. The floor fits a 4’ x 6’ area rug and there is about 4 inches of space between where the floor board ends and the back of the front seats begin (even when the seat is not pushed forward). The back legs of my bench are secured to the floor at that edge but I intentionally left space to be able to move the seats or have my solar panel and some storage on the back of the seats. The mattress is 76 inches fully out so it hangs over the bench by a few inches. If I were to pull the seats forward, it would add additional space. So, that is 6 ft. 3 inches (and possibly a few more if the seats are pulled forward-if that makes sense). Hope that answers your question. Maybe it is considered a long wheel base- but I know it is 114.6 inch wheelbase.

    • @jimwrathall5323
      @jimwrathall5323 3 года назад

      @@LadyBugout Dear Ms. Bugout: I checked wheelbase lengths of recent models. SWB = 104.8 and LWB = 120.6″. So, it looks like you have a long wheelbase. This is good to know. Thank you kindly.
