If your parents work harder, one day they could be in a position like your boyfriends.

Well don't F*** the boss if you don't want drama, don't F*** your parents bosses if you dont want annoying long lasting drama that seeps into a relationship, or just have your boyfriend put them in a position that is still beneficial to BOTH parties while there is still no official contact. That way even if all of your stuff works out with both parties you won't have a viable case for nepotism from other employees, this is cut and dry and your boyfriend being a business owner knows (Or should know) that.

He lied to them about how much he makes. He lied to them about his ambitions. They tried to help him not be a loser. I see no reason for them to apologize.

I agree he shouldn’t have lied, working in construction doesn’t make someone a loser - it’s a vital profession.

If this "boyfriend" was so great, it wouldn't have taken over one year to introduce him to the parents.

That means literally nothing. People have their own timeframes and just want the time to truly bond before inviting family drama that comes with introducing a partner

This doesn't seem like disrespect or insulting him, like they thought he worked as a front line worker and still told him that he can gwt bettwe with dedication and hardwork. I know a lot of people like that, in the department i work as well. They don't necessarily hate, rather they are proud of thier talent and skills and they love telling others about it... To me theres nothing wrong in talking about something youre good at, even to someone who's better than you.
