Great tutorial. I have a trezor one. I'm probably going to eventually upgrade to the T. I think it's important to use the hidden wallet passphrase. If someone gets your seed phrase by theft, they would only be able to access the standard wallet, not the hidden wallet. I keep most of my coins in the hidden wallet. But you're right, if you forget the passphrase there is nothing that can be done to recover that wallet. I gave a relative my passphrase.

Hi cryptodad great tutorial ! If I click recover wallet on the trezor suite and put the 24 words from a ledger account and then in the hidden wallet section(14:06) I enter the passphrase initially set on a ledger, I will be able to recover and manage the funds that are on the Ledger's passphrase account? It will create a a mirror backup on both hardware devices?

It's the only thing you're using your Trezor for is storing BTC. You can always check your balance using the Trezor suite. Since you're not managing any other cryptos, connecting it to Exodus is not that big of a deal.

I want to have a portfolio of over 30 different cryptos. Does this mean I need three different cold wallets eg. Trezor T, Ledger Stax and Trezor 3? I was told that this is dangerous because I could confuse the seeds but I think this would give me more safety since a theif would not not know to which wallet goes what seed and I can organize which seed to which wallet or which crypto to which wallet by using an excel file (no seeds on it). The seeds I want to keep in three differrent kinds of metal seed storages to avoid mixing up. Is this a good strategy?

Yes, it is possible to have a repeat word in your back up phrase. The same word can appear twice in the same list. Kind of rare, but it does happen.
Does it matter if I set it up in the Trezor Suite or on the website
The Trezor T is compatible with many third party wallets. you don't have to use Trezor Suite, but it is optimal for the device and designed to work seamlessly
@@CryptoDad I am new to this so I will stick with the Suite. The reason I asked whether it could be set up in the Suite or on the Trezor website was because my new laptop comes with Window S (Security mode) and it will not let me download apps that are not in the Microsoft Store unless I change it out of S mode.

You will do a receive in the Arculus XRP Wallet to get the Receiving address (You may need to choose Add Assets to enable XRP)
From Uphold you will need to do a Transact from your XRP account. Make sure when you choose the "to" field you use "Crypto Networks" and then choose XRP. This will allow you to paste in the address of your external wallet.

if you loose your cold wallet and you buy a new one how does the phrase recover process works. The mechanics of how trezor recovers the key. Is it in the Trezor servers?

If Ledger can 'Back Door' would they not offer to help those who lost their Cryptos because of lost 'Pass Phrase. Maybe charge a Retrieval Fee, and save millions lost

How do I receive or transfer my Bitcoin to my wallet
The easiest thing to do is to purchase some Bitcoin on a cryptocurrency exchange like Coinbase, and then you can transfer to your wallet. If you have a friend that already owns some Bitcoin, you could ask them to transfer it to your wallet and simply pay them.
it's good u mention the hidden wallet. but since u should keep a copy offline for ur seedphrase, why not just at the same time keep copy of the hidden wallet phrase as well. that's why it shouldn't be a problem. becauz if u can't access ur seedphrase, then forget about ur hidden wallet phrase it's useless still. so if u store seedphrase and hidden wallet phrase on same piece of paper, how can they both be lost at the same time? just saying.
so as long as u store ur seedphrase/hidden wallet safely, then it should be fine. also if someone does manage to unlock the wallet, if they dont have the hidden wallet phrase, they still don't have access to ur crypto. or if for some reason under duress u have to disclose ur wallet, u can simple show them a blank wallet without them knowing there is hidden wallets.
so it's not particularly hard to be using hidden wallets, but for newbs that want to keep things as simple as possible then use the default.
I'm sold, If I am receiving $100 in btc from a business outside of the country, can I have them send it directly to my Trezor, or must I go through a hot wallet first, thank you.
Anyone can send you Bitcoin if you have a Bitcoin wallet setup. Just give them the address of your wallet and they can send you Bitcoin. No need to go through a 3rd party or hot wallet. That's basically the beauty of Bitcoin.

Ordering a Trezor was the worst purchase experience I ever had, All payment options failed, Customer support is non existant and they send me idiotic confusing emails congratulating me for my order when the payment had already failed...Hard to trust them with more serious issues.
Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience trying to purchase a Trezor model. There are so many things that can go wrong when making purchases on the web. Sometimes your bank even thinks it might be a fraud if you're buying something from a website, not in the US. Trezor does have a store on the Amazon site. Aloha Dad, would you please help me with my T T wallet? During setup, the cord became disconnected from the wallet. THE END😢 I have been trying to fix it. Orange letters, BACK UP FAILIED. Hello, I has been getting synchronization error with the ETH account, so I updated the firmware and reset my ledger live. However, after reseting ledger live, I was able to added my other accounts, except for ETH and tokens that runs on ETH (ie. LINK, MATIC). When I tried to add ETH account to ledger live, I keep getting this error message: Unexpected '
Strange that it's only your Ethereum account. Sometimes it's just a network issue that will resolve itself eventually. You might try connecting in off-peak hours like late at night or early in the morning. Of course, you don't want to hear this, but there are other hardware troubleshooting tips like a different USB port or a different cable. Simple reboot, reset your modem, that sort of stuff.
@@CryptoDad Hello. Got it resolved. I reinstalled ledger live, run update firmware and things back to where it was. Thanks. But what I have to say is the staff at Ledger Live is good as dead. I reached out and never got a response.
