Timeline wise, Avengers Campus isn't set in the main MCU timeline (more like the theme park MCU so any of the disney parks/cruise ship marvel content follows each other). It also means you don't get the Galaxy's Edge problem of everything being set at a specific point in time.

Exactly I’m glad someone else also things the ride will be underwhelming. You know the original plans were for an e ticket quinjet ride, but they cancelled it because they are too greedy to spend money to make it a good ride. Instead they are now making a “multiverse” avengers ride (which suspiciously isn’t being called an e ticket by Disney anymore). It’s going to take forever to build but they will try to hype us up for it. Then once people actually get on they’ll notice it’s just a clone of another ride or a new ride but one that sucks. It worries me that this new ride is hinted to be heavily screen based unlike the original plans

Man this more than anything just seems to confirm that Disneyland Paris and especially Walt Disney Studios there is like the Michigans Adventure of the Disney parks. Y'know the forgotten child which gets underinvested in yet the higherups don't care because they know the Disneyland name is enough to bring in tourists from every corner of the continent and squeeze all the money out of them.
Heck I saw ads for Disneyland Paris's Avengers campus on the Metro train in Copenhagen this summer! You never see ads for parks beyond our own national borders here except for Disneyland paris. But people go there anyway because Disneyland is such a hyped up thing, largely thanks to American media, and because the public doesn't know any better. Heck I mean in the US its well known that some theme parks are continentwide destinations, with the Disney parks especially so, but thats not really the case here, and the only one that really is one is Disneyland paris because they've marketed the park so aggressively and because of Disneylands costant mentioning in American media.
The closest we even have to that is maybe some slightly large parks that can attrack crowds from a few neighboring countries like Heide Park, Liseberg, and Europa Park, but again you just won't find anything on public awareness scale in Europe like Disneyland except... well Disneyland!

Still can't believe the centerpiece of this whole land is a reskin of an old ride that was already there. I want to like Avengers campus because I'm a huge Marvel fan, and the 'side stuff' with all the characters is great, but it really needs that long-teased Avengers dark ride as a proper anchor to make the land feel complete.

  • @ajhummel9187

The MCU is all about the characters, and I think the infusion of characters is what makes Avengers Campus work. The area is small and not that visually appealing, plus the main new ride is just okay, but there's the energy of having at least a couple recognizable film characters out and about at all times. It elevates one of the weakest lands in a major theme park to an area that isn't a priority but is still worth checking out.

I noticed you guys mentioned that the timeline is all over the place. Yep, it sure is! And it doesn’t matter one bit!
The plaque you read at the beginning clears that up. It’s a place where they “can assemble from across time and space.” It’s the multiverse! That means a character can be alive, dead, look different, etc. They could literally have 2 Iron Man’s walking around if they wanted to. Of course that would confuse everyone.
For Avenger’s Campus a timeline doesn’t matter at all. They were smart enough to learn from their mistakes with Galaxy’s Edge. Comic book geek here.

There just aren't as many like the Hulk isn't in Paris for example. But there are still plenty. When I went, in Paris, I saw: Thor, Captain America, Spider-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Gamora, Starlord and Black Panther. I think they weren't there in the opening week because there would literally not be any room with how crowed it can be in those opening weeks.

We’re from the uk and we went here last year with our 4 children 13, 10, 6, 3, even my kids thought it was poor, me and my wife honestly didn’t enjoy it either, it was just far far far to busy, we had to queue for what felt like an age to get on 2 very mediocre rides, we must’ve been unlucky as we seen hardly any superhero’s and we were in the for hours and hours before we moved on, we were there (California) on holiday for 16 days and only ever went once, my kids are all huge marvel fans and didn’t want to go back after there first visit, kind of tells the story on its own, like yourself we have also been to the avengers campus in Paris and again while not being fantastic in our opinion we all enjoyed in more then the version in California, we went to Disneyland Paris for 5 days and visited twice, while in me and my wife’s opinion the difference was minimal, although We definitely enjoyed the Paris version more, my children liked the Paris version way more for some reason, they especially liked the ant man food place that did the large and small food, and the rollercoaster ride (I though it was bang average), and lots of other little small differences, we also seen many of the characters in the Paris version and got photos as well, we visited on a Tuesday and a Thursday and it was very quiet in comparison to the California version, so that might have had a lot to do with it perhaps, after having been to both I’d say that neither are great and I wouldn’t rush back to neither, but if I had to go back to one for me it would be the Paris version.

Man it sucks that they totally destroyed the Tower of Terror. I have such good memories of that ride from the first 10 years of it's existence and going in college and end of high school. Things were so much different back then. It's weird like the huge population growth and unfortunate evolution of people has resulted in things being less good overall. I was thinking about this the other day, when there were less people that different things like Disneyland had to cater to the better it was as a place. I used to have a pass in the early to mid 2000's and that was the time to have a pass when it was having a resurgence. They went through a rough time in the mid 90's and up to the late 90's but things really turned around at a good time. I remember going with my friends in college to the park after school and on days off work and they used to have free parking for 3 hours, and 6 with validation, no metal detectors walking in, one of the best show venues EVER, a fun place to go on the weekends and a chill place to go during the day and get to ride 5-6 rides in a few hours then bail. Now you would never find a day like that where you could use free fast pass and get on a bunch of rides because there was a slow day. Man, I'm glad I grew up when I did haha...
