  • This video (part 2 of 2) begins with filtration of blood at the glomerulus, and describes how substances are taken out of the nephron and put back into the blood (reabsorption). The parts of the nephron, such as the glomerulus, the proximal-convoluted tubule, the distal convoluted tubule, and the collecting ducts are colored and their roles in urine formation explained. I also explain the juxtaglomerular apparatus and its role in releasing erythropoietin and renin.

    This is insanely helpful. You're a really good teacher! Thank you for the videos! Covid drove me to work in the ER/ICU and now I'm trying to take a TEAS exam so I can become an ER nurse. Your videos are beautifully coherent.

    To be clear, water diffuses into the blood on the descending side following other nutrients, and it also is reabsorbed in the blood of the ascending side, and DCT because of the sodium reabsorption?
